   Alina is fantastic! As a customer, I observed her humbly and gracefully interacting with another customer recently who seemed rather disproportionately unreasonable and angry. She kept her cool and diffused the situation naturally and helped the customer. She’s also very knowledgeable about products and looked to find the best one for me with my query. Top customer service! If only all customer service staff were like her. I wanted to ensure this was recognised so have posted this review.

   If you live near Brighton & you want to buy some walking shoes / hiking boots then please go to Millets first & ASK TO TALK TO MIKE. Mike gave me expert level advice & helped me choose walking shoes & hiking boots right for my feet & needs. If you have ever had any aches, pains or problems anywhere in your body after walking let him know & he can help you. I recommend going early in the morning when it is quiet then you can have his undivided attention. Mike told me so many things I wanted to know about hiking boots, care thereof and about socks & insoles etc. Much appreciated! I found Mike to be what I call ‘naturally helpful’. He wants to share his knowledge and help you make the right choices. So much better than tramping around all the outdoor shops getting increasingly overwhelmed by the choice.

   Absolutely superb service from Nathan and Otis at Brighton Millets today. My camping light is about 20 years old and suddenly stopped working. It's a really good, sturdy light and I was loathe to just throw it out. I took it to a DIY shop and two other camping shops and in every shop, the assistants just looked at it and said "dunno". At Millets, Nathan and Otis took my request seriously. They took the light apart, checked the bulb and batteries and cleaned up the connections. Nathan said "I hate giving up!" so he didn't. He found the loose connection and got the light working again. The connection is still a bit hit-and-miss so I bought a new light anyway (Hi-Gear, looks robust and reliable) and am keeping the old one as a spare. I am extremely impressed by Nathan and Otis's determination to get my light working. We live in a throwaway culture and should try to fix things before binning them! FIVE STARS AND MANY THANKS TO BOTH!!!

   Small but conveniently located outdoor clothing and equipment store. Better range on display and in stock at their other store (Blacks) at bottom of North Street. Inexperienced assistant knew little about the footwear on display but I showed him how to identify leather-free products.

   We did not get her name but she went out of her way to help us and made a big shopping really easier. It was our second visit from London and it was worth it. Just to say that one of the male staff we met on our first visit was also very friendly and helpful .
