Once a great pub where servers were friendly and attentive but wow has it gone down hill ! Ordered a drink at the bar as asked for a table to eat, we sat down at a table and didn’t get our drinks for over thirty minutes bearing in mind there was six staff members present and relatively quiet in there, food arrived and it was luke-warm and again 30 minutes wait for a scotch egg and brunch. Completely disappointed with this experience and will not be returning! Oh and to add insult to injury we were given envelopes which contained vouchers, once these envelopes are opened they become invalid which is completely useless and deceitful. Shocking

We visited The White Hart for our Christmas Day meal. The pub itself is lovely, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, which made for a pleasant start to the day. While the flavours of the food were fine, both the starter and main course were unfortunately served cold, which was disappointing. Temperature plays a big part in enjoying a meal, especially on Christmas Day. I do like my beef on the red side, but when it’s cold rather than hot and pink, it’s far less enjoyable. We didn’t raise the issue at the time as it was Christmas Day and we didn’t want to cause any hard feelings or add pressure to the team. That said, Charlie was an absolute credit to the pub — friendly, attentive, and genuinely positive throughout the meal. His attitude and professionalism really stood out and he’s clearly a great asset to the team. Overall, it was a shame about the food temperature, as the setting and service otherwise had the potential to make this a lovely Christmas Day experience.

What decent hotel runs out of GUINNESS on 23 December. Decided to return for a drink after awful dinner two nights ago. Chicken pizza which had chicken on only 50% of pizza - shame because actual pizza tasted nice. Waffle dessert which was two small pieces of waffle one end, tablespoon of icecream the other. Tasted great but move on people it wasnt gourmet and its not 1990. Do a decent helping of an everyday dessert

We’ve visited this pub several times in the past and always enjoyed it, which is why we were genuinely excited to return after hearing it had been closed for several weeks for renovations in the run-up to Christmas. Unfortunately, once inside, it was hard to see where those renovations had made any meaningful difference. There was no obvious improvement to the décor or overall feel, and in fact, on the stairs I noticed old paintwork with visible chips and wear still very much on show. If changes were made, they certainly weren’t noticeable enough to justify either the closure or what has clearly followed in terms of pricing. The standout, and not in a good way was the dramatic increase in drink prices. This pub has never been cheap, but it now seems to believe it’s charging Central London rates. Highlights from the menu include: - Single glass of wine was £14 - Pint of beer £7.30 - Double rum and coke £10 We ordered just two drinks and the bill came to £20+ which genuinely took us by surprise. To make matters worse, we overheard a waitress querying a price on behalf of another customer because the price listed on the menu didn’t match what was coming up on the system. That did little to inspire confidence or transparency. As we sat in the bar discussing what felt like daylight robbery, the table next to us struck up conversation, equally shocked and unhappy with the pricing. When multiple tables are independently having the same reaction, it’s a clear sign something isn’t right. Sadly, this now rules the venue out as somewhere we’d visit semi-frequently. When two rounds, of four drinks for two people total cost the same as a decent meal elsewhere, it’s hard to justify staying for that. It feels very much like the owners are passing the cost of whatever renovation took place directly onto customers, and if so, I can’t see this approach keeping the place busy for long. Overall, what was once an enjoyable local now feels overrated and significantly overpriced. A very disappointing return visit.

I went into the white hart the weekend just gone, and was surprised how far the standard had dropped since the last time I’d been in (6 months or so) The whole place smelt really bad so much so that two of the group id entered with left immediately, the toilets were in a really bad state and the bar area was very dirty. Unfortunate as it used to be quite a nice place to go to but It seems to be going downhill.

Have visited with friends for meals on several occasions. Food is always excellent - good choice for those with allergies, drinks are great with a wide variety. Staff are always friendly and welcoming

Lovely room, great amenities (the hair straighteners were a nice touch!), comfy bed and a delicious breakfast (great vegan options). Only slight downside was the noise from the street outside when it came to closing time at the bar, but it was a Friday night and I always bring ear plugs with me just in case of noise! Staff are really friendly and helpful, we had a lovely stay.

Good food and atmosphere, whilst staff did they were a little bit inexperienced and lacking. Coffee tasted salty so they replaced it but then the replacement was also on the bill with other erroneous items which they gladly removed but if we hadn't have checked it would have cost us £30 extra! Also they didn't offer us desert menu's which we had to go up to the bar and ask. Minor annoyances on an overall good experience

Party of six on a Wednesday evening, the restaurant was not very busy. The ambiance was lovey, but the service was exceptionally slow alrhough friendly and polite (20 mins to be asked if we would like a drink 10 mins for drinks to come and then 30 mins before our order was taken for food after our drinks were served). The food was OK but not worth the prices, and soup was so scalding hot my lips were badly burnt and are still sore and swollen 9 days later
