   Our recent experience with Muss Burton Law - specifically with Gail Anthony and her team managing the conveyancing for our private property sale - has been incredibly positive. We’ve been through conveyancing for purchases and sales with different firms before, and have had pretty awful experiences. These are including and not limited to having our file given to numerous different solicitors like it’s a game of pass the parcel, lack of updates, being effectively non contactable, and a lack of transparency. Working with Gail, thankfully, was a ‘night and day’ difference to our previous difficulties. Gail is fast (and I mean really fast, but yet still thorough), efficient and helpful. Clearly she has a lot of experience and really knows what she is doing, but beyond this, she provides an outstanding customer experience. It often felt like Gail was only working on our case (of course, we know that’s not true!!). No ball dropping, confusion or unnecessary delays from her side - just seamless, on-time delivery, and for that we are so grateful and cannot recommend her enough.    I met with Melanie den Brinker today for advice and help with my divorce papers. She has a great relaxed and understanding approach at what could be a difficult time, and yes that first 30 minutes is free. The time is also not dragged out just so they can charge you more. Very refreshing and highly recommended.

   Unfortunately, my experience of the firm's probate department is that in the course of administering an estate with a simple will over 6 months, they have no progress to report, are reluctant to provide any updates (I have yet to have any substantial update on the execution of a will in 6 months), and communications fall into a black hole. I have worked in the legal industry for over a decade and have never had this experience with any law firm nor known anyone to have this level of poor service.

   Just reading the review of Lora Grogan below and can't help but think that it sounds to me like she did a jolly good job for her client - it certainly isn't her role to protect the person on the other side of the dispute. Perhaps you should be complaining about the poor performance of your own solicitor in not protecting your position at the time? I used Lora and Melanie Den Brinker when I needed to seek years of unpaid child support from my ex - it's very difficult to get more than 12 months worth of arrears through the courts - they managed to get me full recovery together with costs and did an absolutely outstanding job for me. I felt fully informed and protected the whole way through process. They were particularly good when it came to selecting the right barrister to represent me too and going through that thoroughly with me. I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

   I am writing this review in response to the negative review left earlier by Simon Brown. As Helen’s client for this specific transaction, I fell a little better placed to comment on her performance than Simon, who himself admits his interaction with her was limited to one short phone call. I have engaged Buss Murton many times both professionally to assist with matters for my business and privately, as in this case. Each and every time their service has been timely, thorough, efficient and painless and it has been a pleasure to speak with their staff. Helen has upheld those high standards throughout this process and I would have no hesitation in recommending her, or engaging her again. She has been courteous, responsive and attentive throughout. Clearly, Simon was frustrated that when he aggressively pressed for details of my instructions to her, Helen stood firm and would not pass on any details without my consent. As the client, I am delighted in her stance and would feel a distinct lack of confidence in any solicitor who would release any information to someone they had never spoken with before! Incidentally, despite Simon chasing us, our end of the chain was ready to exchange on time and it was their end which missed the deadline! Telling…..
