Have used Peter on many occasions , he is a traditional straight forward professional. I’ve always found him excellent and keeps you firmly in the picture . He’s always contactable if you have any concerns , would definitely recommend him .

The solicitor is arrogant, rude and causes a lot of stress and duress for people involved with their service in any way. I wouldn’t recommend this company to my worst enemy. Oh no, actually I would. I could say a lot worse. Avoid like the plague!!!!!

I have been using Peter for over 20 years and have recommended him widely to family and friends. I trust him implicitly. If you are looking for a good, old-fashioned, personal service Mr Bailey could suit you well. May I also add that many of the negative reviews here are by people who did NOT instruct Mr Bailey but who they encountered when he was representing someone else - I do not think they represent the service Peter offers to his customers which is diligent, thorough and trustworthy.

Do not ever instruct this person to work for you. If you find you are trying to buy from someone who is using him for their conveyancing, save yourself the trouble and find another house to buy. Dickensian, and I don't mean that as a compliment.

Where to start? I have never written a poor review of anywhere, as I don't really like to be negative, but I am making an exception for this company. Just to warn people that they should probably look elsewhere. We recently bought a property - the vendors unfortunately used Peter Bailey. A simple sale (we were already renting the property and were cash buyers). First off Mr Bailey didn't reply to our solicitors initial enquiry - hi insisted he had, so we eventually found out that he hadn't replied to our solicitor - he had decided to reply to another solicitor, who hadn't worked at the company for a couple of years. Next he had to organise a quick transfer of names at the land registry - this should take 8/10 days. He managed to make it take 10 weeks (and took offence, because our solicitor could see the land registry portal, and would point out that he hadn't answered their queries, or even attached the correct paperwork from the start). When our solicitors finally got hold of the deeds (which he wouldnt send - they had to request themselves from the land registry), they sent him a list of questions. The questions that the vendor had to answer were all done quickly - he totally ignored the 2 that he had to answer - so that part then took another 6 weeks before he finally did anything. Because every time he didn't do anything/did something wrong we had to pay our solicitor to chase it up/contact land registry, it all cost us a much inflated solicitors bill. It also cost the vendors at least £5000 as they were waiting for the proceeds from the sale to pay off an expensive (supposedly short term) loan. Our solicitor warned us at the beginning that she had dealt with him before and that he was at best slow, and at worse absolutely obstructive - you have been warned.

This was our third time of purchasing a house and Peter made it completely stress free. It felt like we were able to just give him the relevant documents and he did the rest and took all the worry out of it for us. He was able to answer all of our questions and explained any of the more complex issues that were involved in our selling and purchasing. We would not hesitate to recommend Bailey & Co to our family and friends.

Peter is by far the worst conveyencing solicitor I have ever had to deal with. The lady we bought our house from last year had instructed him, and it was a total, stressfull, messy nightmare from day one. For your own sanity PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Also in response the the gentleman who said to ignore the poor reviews, I would reply that my review has been written in good faith based on the service, or distinct lack of, that we received. With 2 very young children in the mix, buying a house is stressful enough without a very poor solicitor in the mix. I stand by this review.

I have no idea why the other reviews have been poor. I have used Peter now for 2 house purchases and he has been nothing short of amazing. He has made the process very stress free and has been on the end of the phone or email whenever needed. The speed of processing the paperwork and everything else required has been exceptional. Like all this buying and selling a house takes time and patience but Peter makes this process as stress free as possible. I would highly recommend Peter and the team and you encourage you to ignore the reviews on here they are simply not true. Thank you very much Peter for everything you have done.
