   My dad is traumatised from visiting this hospital - he was not even the patient. My mum (who has paranoid psychosis and complex personality disorder) and my dad visited Northgate Hospital multiple times for acute care for my mum from their crisis team. My mum had told them about the legitimate FII (factitious induced illness) template against her which not only my dad corroborates, but has been documented, and documented as the trigger for her mental illnesses by the consultant psychiatrist who diagnosed her with paranoid psychosis and complex personality disorder. A nurse prescriber at Northgate Hospital denied that this hospital has anything to do with the template. I now have reason to believe staff at this hospital had been passed on the FII template by another authority and were actively, brazenly peddling it during my mum's time receiving care from them. My parents entered an appointment with a mental health nurse and joining him into the room was a young woman in nursing uniform who did not introduce herself, nor did the mental health nurse introduce her to us. My dad asked if she was a student to which she confirmed that she was. My mum politely asked her to leave and she ignored her. About a minute and a half later, my mum asked my dad to get her to leave. Due to her mental illnesses, having multiple people in the room during a mental health appointment triggers her psychosis which she was entering at this point. The student responded by saying "are you like this with all the nurses?", directly implying, on the basis of her being black, that my mum was showing racial prejudice. My mum never made reference to her ethnicity or race. My parents had NOT been made aware a student would be joining the appointment or asked permission. Instead of citing NHS protocol or legitimate policy which stated she, as a nurse, had to be allowed in the room against my parents' will, this woman brought her own personal agenda into the workplace and, with ableism in one hand and an FII template in the other, bullied a vulnerable patient under active psychosis. Another incident of the FII manifestation during clinical time was when a mental health nurse scolded my mum after she admitted that she has episodes of shouting and swearing uncontrollably whilst in psychosis. The nurse disregarded these facts and told my mum off saying "you mustn't do that" and "you know that's really bad", as if she does it deliberately. This hospital stinks of both ableism and personal agendas peddled during clinical time and reeks of incompetence. My dad says he feels traumatised by his experience at Northgate Hospital, at which he was not even a patient. It left him with two sleepless nights, reeling from the way these staff had addressed my mum as if she was fabricating her symptoms.

   I’ve found impatient hospital to be very good in my opinion , based on my expensive of 3 other units . Staff , activities , food , empathy shown , Jane is amazing who helps with supporting patients family .

   They have no understanding of mental health. Do they realise how hard it is to get up in the morning on a low? I rang and cancelled two appointments. I thought that was achievement but nope not good enough they threw me off the books and said go to ur gp not even a warning . My mental health nurse lied aswell. When I rang up crying I was told to be quiet take a breath I can’t understand you when sort it out. So compassionate. All they do is either give u medication , or you’ll get a mental health nurse who just sits there nodding there head. No advice. It’s pointless unless you’re wanting your medication upped. No counselling offered, no psychiatrist. Oh and you’ll be waiting months

   Review of Northgate Hospital, Great Yarmouth I stayed at Northgate Hospital in Great Yarmouth and feel compelled to share my experience. While the food was adequate, I faced serious safety and care issues. During my stay, I witnessed incidents where patients displayed dangerous behavior, including one individual running around with a knife and another attempting to gouge my eyes out. Furthermore, I was significantly overmedicated, which caused severe side effects and impacted my well-being. Additionally, I was not permitted to leave the facility for three months, which greatly affected my mental health. The room in which I stayed was okay nice size clean en suite.

   Some patients are looked down on by staff and medication doesn't help them. Diagnoses not always accurate and no process to challenge them. Some staff don't know rules and make them up. Great friendly patients and some staff were amazing. Didn't give me enough time before discharge and didn't consider what makes me eligible to stay there - ie. Mental health issues, eating disorder and learning difficulties. Good food and plenty per day, don't like staff interrupting sleep. Good room and ensuite, cleaning staff were amazing and friendly. Pool table is fun and have got enough TVs, courtyard should be open more. Wouldn't mind going back but that's just my circumstances, would hate to have new sections thrown at me with a tribunal being the only way out, and that not always working for the individual.

   Had a very negative experience with a camhs therapist at Silverwood. When I tried to explain that I feel my Son needs further support for issues not addressed, she was extremely patronising. Will probably need therapy to get over that therapy! She showed no care, empathy or compassion whatsoever!

   Fed all kinds of medications and then dropped with no aftercare or explanation. Was told I could not see them because I drink alcohol occasionally. Was referred to their drug and alcohol clinic who would not see me because I do not drink enough alcohol. Passed around to every department in the hospital with no one willing to take any duty of care on. Phoned countless times to be told they have no record of me on their system. Turned up for appointments that have been cancelled or not even recorded. Had GP referrals cancelled without justification. Spent years desperately trying to get help from Northgate and all they have done is destroy my faith in mental health support.

   Absolute insult...mental health are less then useless, i have tried to commit suicide so many times that they refuse to see me despite being a suicide risk to myself and to others around me, it is no wonder that people who need there help actually commit suicide due to there staff stating that you dont fit there criteria and fail to explain what there criteria is. I am so glad that i am taking them to court over there neglect of care.

   The resource centre sucks!!! I’ve had 5 different doctors In 6 years. They don’t care at all!! I was told that the medication that has kept me going for 7 years all they tell me is that nope no more even though it helps me. I’m bipolar and I left today feeling like I wanted to walk into oncoming traffic because I need help I a huge way and instead they let you leave feeling like death would be better. Seriously is there any other way to deal with this without feeling alone.
