We recently welcomed our baby at this hospital, and we are extremely happy with the care we received. The service was excellent, and every member of the staff was friendly, respectful, and very professional. They made us feel comfortable and supported throughout the entire experience. Thank you to all the team for taking such good care of my wife and our newborn. We truly appreciate everything you did for us.

I cannot express enough how grateful I am for all the staff I encountered throughout my Labour, delivery and postnatal care. My labour was not how I had planned and the midwife’s who cared for me helped me through every complication. The anesthesiologist was lovely, although I was scared he made me feel like I was in very capable hands. I spent my recovery at Rowans Ward, with the most lovely and caring staff. They helped me not only with my physical health and baby’s health but offered me so much emotional support and comfort while going through such a distressing time. Across the board I think they are such a wonderful team and deserve recognition for how hard they work at providing support and comfortable stay. The student midwife’s were really hands on and really hard working too! They would even look after my partner and offer him drinks and food and just general chatting which I thought was so lovely. Big shoutout to Elle and Amy, really lovely people who take time to get to know you and provide their support! NICU staff was wonderful and offered so much support with breastfeeding etc and again emotional support through challenges I faced with this. I loved that they would ring me to feed my baby it made me feel so much more in control. They provide food and meals for family’s I think they are great at what they do! No complaints whatsoever I am so grateful to have received such great care! :)

I received such horrific care here that I had to switch hospitals halfway through my pregnancy. Came out of my first pregnancy booking appointment crying - it was incredibly rushed, less than 10 minutes. You're also kept waiting for hours between seeing different midwives/doctors, and the waiting rooms are full so you have to wait even further away. Absolutely no personal service or care - you are made to feel like a burden. Reception were always incredibly blunt and rude. Even when I called up to inform them I'd switched hospitals (as they kept booking me in for appointments even though they'd been previously informed) the reception were rude and made me feel like an inconvenience. One of the worst hospital experiences I've ever had and switching my care from here was the best decision I've ever made for myself & my baby.

Massive thank you to all the Midwives & Doctors. Special mention to Midwife Annie & Student midwife Louise who delivered our baby. They Couldn’t have made the delivery of our Baby Harlow more re-assuring and special. Both extremely friendly, professional and attentive to everything whilst ensuring my Wife was receiving the best care possible. All the Doctors and midwives on Maple Ward & Rowan ward were also fantastic. They honestly don’t get the credit that they deserve. We are forever grateful for all the help & care we have received.

Failed me and my unborn baby- rang 25 times being concerned of bleeding over a 4 week period from 11-15 weeks pregnant… fobbed me off every single time. I was suffering a miscarriage and they wouldn’t even book me in for a scan. Utter disgrace, don’t have your babies here folks. None of the staff can be trusted.

5 hours to be seen then 4 hour late scan, then 2 hours to sign a book which they said would take a couple minutes, spend more time chatting in rooms on phones than getting stuff done quickly

I cannot praise and thank the staff here enough. Wow, from the moment my partner came in with contractions, the midwife was brilliant (Sandy). She really put us at ease and we felt so comfortable with such a kind human looking after us. I didn't manage to catch everyone's names but everyone was fantastic - the midwifes, assistants, aneatisists. I'd also like to thank George who delivered our baby, I cannot put in to words how much gratitude we have. You were amazing and are an absolute credit to your profession. Thank you so much, even though my partner was in a lot of pain (even more so after 6 failed epidural attempts) and probably didn't seem thankful at the time, we are so glad we got to share our special moment with you. Also all of the aftercare staff on the Rowan ward were brilliant, and just topped our fantastic experience. Thank you Hull Women and Children's for bringing my son into this world. Everyone will have their own experience but ours was the best, solely because of the staff here. Thank you again! (Also, I've seen some comments about rude behaviour to non-English families. My partner shared a room with an Eastern European lady, and they treated her just the same as my partner. Like I said just our experience...)

I agree with another negative review on here. If you are not English do not go there. I almost lost my mother and my brother due to incredible failings made by the doctors, midwives and nurses there. The worst thing was that they were fully aware of dire consequences if no cesarean was offered. My mum suffered barbaric approach during labour and my brother barely survived. The damage caused is for life now.
