   Went to celebrate my husband's birthday. The quality and quantity of the food provided was fantastic. We visited another establishment recently, close to Biddulph Grange Gardens and were disappointed with the food. This location is far superior and really worthy of a visit. The atmosphere, with roaring fires, great service, great food, good choice of drinks and, also being dog friendly is a real find and we will be visiting on a regular basis.

   Warmly welcomed on entering, able to choose where we sat, which is always nice. Cosy country pub feel with a roaring fire. Food was of a good standard and well presented. The selection of bees and wines was very good, having Kopperburg crisp apple on draughty, was a first for me. The view from the garden is spectacular, and we will definitely make it one of our summer destinations.

   What a view! Great place for a Sunday evening pint to see the sunset. Very old fashioned inside. Had to have my pint re poured as it was flat but it wasn't an issue. Seemed like it was a popular place with the locals. I didn't eat so gave 4 stars on the food. Pleasant visit.

   Just recently discovered this pub. Wasn’t sure what to expect on a Wednesday lunch time but was pleasantly surprised at the extremely warm welcome by the bar staff. We had the special two course lunch for £14. The menu wasn’t too big and comprised of all the usual classic pub grub choices. All our food arrived quickly and was very tasty home cooked food. We look forward to going back.

   Had another great meal last Saturday night. Took friends for their first time and they were impressed. The service was excellent. Emma did a great job. Will be back. Can’t wait until we have some lovely weather so we can sit outside and look at the wonderful view.

   Reopened after several years of closure. Fully modernised to a very high contemporary standard. Food was very good, but the bar area and seating remains cramped. Beer well kept. Parking somewhat restricted but plenty of adjacent off-street parking on country lane. A great local and well worth travelling to. Congrats to the entrepreneur who risked his own money; it is a great community asset and deserves to be successful, especially in these austere times.
