    My father passed away twenty years ago. Ten years ago I was still trying to track down his assets in England. One share holding company I was dealing with insisted that my father didn't hold shares with them despite the fact that I had a clear paper trail. Anyway, I put the papers in a box and forgot about the matter for another ten years. Perane got in touch with me at the start of this year and told me there were still shares in my father's name. To be honest I'd totally forgotten about those assets after ten years, but it came back to when I checked the records I'd kept. Of course I'm happy to have the money that came from the sale of the shares, but more than that is the sense of relief I got from finally tying everything up after so long. I'd held onto those dividend payment slips and letter for more than ten years in the hopes that they'd lead to something. Jan McGee deserves an award for all the hard work she did in tracking me down and getting the shares liquidated. As for the registrars that had the shares for so long and then handed them over to the Court ... You guys suck!
