   I've been with Marks and Co for over 25 years now and I trust them implicitly. David, Esther, Henry and Michael have always looked out for me, first as a sole trader and then as a limited company. They always respond promptly to queries, keep me in the loop with everything regarding my business and are a a joy to work with. I could never consider looking elswhere for an accountancy firm.

   Just learn how to use Xero. It's not complicated, took me a day and we are now saving £150 p/m. You can send VAT and EOY reports. If you need more help regarding how to save on tax or just a little bit of financial advice look else where. Marks and Co will do the basics and nothing else. Getting a call is also difficult. Also be careful with their Direct Debit arrangement - make sure you get what you pay!

   Horrendous - I've had exact same experience as James who's left a review here below. Dealing with the same guy - rarely gets back to emails, robotic communication, zero help whatsoever. Any questions I've had on the phone have always been answered with ummm and ahhhs - I have zero confidence in this accountancy, I would absolutely NOT recommend using this company. They just want to get paid. I'm sure I've also had many missed opportunities for tax savings also.

   Stay well clear of this place! I was with them for two years and decided to change my accountant after Henry submitted my tax return late, which meant I had to pay a £100 fine. He didn't return any of my e-mails two weeks prior to this (I would have done it myself to avoid the fine, if I had known how unreliable he was). Just changed to another accountant in Brighton who told me that I could have saved around £3000 in tax over the last two years. My new accountant gives me advice about what is best for my business and how I can keep my tax payments low - something Marks and Co. never did. So, my business is around £4000 worse off after appointing Marks and Co. to do my accounts 2 years ago - waste of money and time. There are so many better accountants in Brighton - don't make the same mistake as I did. Horrendous service.
