   I’m writing this review to express my deep frustration with the service I received from Galloways Accounting. I trusted them with my 2024 tax return, having provided all necessary documentation back on 11th September 2024, along with clear written instructions to complete and file the return well ahead of the 31st January 2025 deadline. I made it explicitly clear that I would be abroad in the final two weeks of January and unable to respond to any issues. Despite this, Galloways failed to act on my instructions and completely dropped the ball. They didn’t complete or file the return on time, and offered no meaningful communication or support as the deadline approached. Their poor management and lack of basic diligence directly resulted in a £100 fine and the subsequently a £348 late-filing penalty. After it became obvious that Galloways were not going to deliver, I had to urgently transfer my tax affairs to another firm in Brighton—who thankfully stepped in to get the return submitted, albeit late due to the last-minute nature of the transition. What makes this especially frustrating is that I’ve always filed my own returns on time in the past. I only sought professional help this year to ensure things went smoothly—what a mistake. Galloways have been unreliable, unresponsive, and ultimately caused unnecessary financial and administrative stress. I note they somehow have "reasonably good" reviews which I find odd, as I cannot recommend them to anyone. If you value timeliness, communication, or basic competence, steer clear.

They've always given sage advice, recommendations and reassurance, celebrated our successes, and we've benefited from their diligence and support many times, whether through reply to my (many!) emails or with helpful phone conversations whenever I've needed. My business is growing and they've been able to offer extra support to make sure we get things right, so that I can concentrate on what I do best. I've already recommended them to others many times.

   As a small business we use Galloway's Accounting for our payroll. Having had an awful experience with our previous accountant, it has been a refreshing change to experience a stress free payroll. They are fast, efficient and professional. Our payroll is correct first time, every time, and any errors on our part are dealt with professionally and without issue. I would highly recommend Galloway's and in particular, our payroll manager Andrew Park.
