   Just another expensive conman …It appears that most dentists are the same ..this chap is rude and arrogant but plays a good act I’ll give him that ! I will say the hygenist is the most loveliest and gentle woman though ! I have edited this review to reply to Nigel Hammond … I spoke to him from the off and gave him every detail of the problems I had previously had with another dentist .. we even had a consultation that I paid for ! I had also spoke to another dentist mark howdle at your practice .. I was open and honest about my situation and paid to see you in may 2023 .. you told me you would be able to help and then After a year and half of taking my money and me paying to see you and your hygenist you now say you can’t do .. please see pictures with original Contact from yourself and mark

   A few months ago, I had to search for a new dentist that had the skill set to repair a crowned tooth, damaged by my regular dentist. I reviewed many local dentists, some with 5 star reviews. However, I read between the lines when reading reviews, as one needs to appreciate context. Some of the reviews for Stoneyfeilds are pretty bad, but is that the fault of the dentist, or the attitude of the patient. I reached the point of desperation and my regular dentist refered my to Stoneyfields. I was initially seen by their orthodontist, a root canal specialist, who quickly assessed the remains of my tooth and advised that he could affect repair. He did a temporary clean out of my tooth, to prevent infection developing while i awaited an appointment. The root canal was later completed skillfully and with care. I had been advised to wait a week before I had my crown repaired, so that any swelling caused by the invasive canal proceedure had settled. My crown was then replaced my the dentist (Owner) who completed the treatment carefully and considerately, keeping me informed of the process at each step. The result is amazing, I am obviously very pleased. At no time did I feel any pain, even when injecting into my upper front gum, which does historically tend to hurt a little. In addition, between the treatments, I had a deep clean by their hygienist, who left my teeth spotless. When reading reviews on this company, or any other please remember that the main reason you are there is to receive treatment and therefore the main requirement is..... Competancy! Leaving a grumpy review based on your poor attitude is at best unfair. Conclusion. I was treated with respect and care and the work done was pain free and has left me feeling confident and happy. Of course I will be returning and can therefore highly recommend the business not only for competent dentistry but would suggest that if anyone has fears related to the process, the team will care for you to make the experience as bearable as possible.

   I don’t understand some of the negative reviews. I am a long standing client and have nothing but praise for the whole team at Stoneyfields. If they were not up to scratch I would not return, but they are excellent. I requested an urgent appointment yesterday, was given one for today and have had my tooth repaired this morning in a professional and pleasant manner. I can’t ask for more. If I had failed to keep my appointment I would expect to have had to pay for the wasted time, that seems fair to me.

   The most unprofessional, disgustingly rude Dentist I have ever come across. We have been patients at this practice for over 5 years. One missed appointment by my husband (the first one ever, which had been booked a year ago and no reminder sent), resulted in a £115 fine and threats of taking us to court. Nigel Hammond clearly has a few issues. He happily removed my husband, myself and our children from his books, just because of this. Extremely threatening emails were sent to my husband by Nigel himself, which I will more than happily share with anyone who wishes to see them. I could possibly forgive his rudeness if he was actually a decent Dentist. I would not recommend this practice to anyone.

   I booked in for a root canal and they carried out an excellent job with my back bottom tooth. I have had my local nhs dentist cause me some pain and felt like the where rough with work they have carried out on me. But here the work that was done was pain free and comfortable. The communication from here was good to. I would recommend this place for treatment and i will come back here for any other work. The price also is about average that i was charged. Many thanks guys for the treatment.

   Nigel the practice owner booked my appointment for me 6 months in advance. I queried this at the time saying I wouldn't know that far in advance if I could attend due to work commitments. His response was that its only a placeholder date as a reminder and we would reschedule at the time if needed. I accepted this and now after being sent the reminder about my appointment I rang immediately to reschedule as I could see this clashed with work. I was greeted with a very rude and abrupt response saying that I couldn't have appointment for another 6 months but he also said that there would be no point as I would only ring at the time to cancel again as I don't know my working schedule that far in advance. So now I'm left with no appointment at all and a bad taste in my mouth (pardon the pun) with this practice, having a pleasant manner and a bit of understanding goes a long way.

   When I first visited Stoneyfields Dental Practice, I needed a number of fillings and a tooth removed. All the treatment went well, was completely pain free and compared with past experiences with NHS dentists, I was so glad I'd chosen Stoneyfields. I now have 6 monthly hygienist appointments which are great for keeping on top of any issues. Great service all round and I would wholeheartedly recommend Nigel and the team and Stoneyfields Dental Practice.

   If you go here because you think the most expensive in town is the best, that is not the case. I have never left a bad review but am making an exception here as a formal complaint did not receive a satisfactory answer or a refund. Dentist seemed less concerned in providing appropriate treatment to creating opportunities for profit and my medical records, when requested even discussed, in detail, treatment I hadn't received (but they hoped I might have) with all the confirmation of my consent for this!
