I have had a long standing problem with drainage from my sink/washing machine. Bishops handled the problem very successfully, correcting faults that other plumbers have not found. Great result, would definitely recommend.

We have had several large and small jobs done by Bishops, ranging from a complete bathroom refit to small repairs. The work is always professional and reliable and fine to a very high standard. The staff are friendly and polite. Bishops are very reliable and I always recommend them to friends.

A massive thank you to the Bishops team, especially Marie for her incredibly responsive service and Lex for the rapid fix. We hit a pipe and they had Lex on site in approximately 15 minutes on a Friday afternoon, all at a very reasonable price. Truly refreshing service and highly recommended by me - thank you for saving the day!

This review is almost 2 years too late, and I’ve genuinely tried my best not to write a bad review for these guys, but they’ve done such a bad job on our bathroom I feel compelled to finally write this. So many things went wrong from the start. To start with the communication was awful. When things started off we had Mick as our project manager, he was professional and helped my wife select good bathroom units for the bathroom refurb. Unfortunately he got Covid at the beginning of the project, and we got a new project manager who seemingly wasn’t briefed and didn’t seem to know what was going on. The job initially was quoted as being 2 weeks, however it ended up taking closer to 8 weeks in total. Admittedly one of these delays was due to Victoria Plumbing sending the wrong unit. There were just so many ridiculous issues that cropped up, such as: they cut the sink worktop incorrectly so it had to be reordered; the housing for the boiler stuck out too far that if sat down on the toilet, you would have to sit at an angle in order to use the loo; we noticed scratches on the mirror after installation; the ‘floating sink’ was too close to the wall and so the area behind it couldn’t be cleaned, after complaining they moved it forward, however there is a gap between the sink and the surface top which can gather moisture leading to wood rot and mould growing in the cabinet below the sink; the housing for the boiler wasn’t sealed properly, with exposed plaster and concrete exposed on the floor level; paint has come off of the ceiling, after complaining Bishops sent someone round to repaint it, but the issue has persisted; one of their employees left our front door key in a disposable cup *outside our front door*. So with all these issues why am I writing this almost 2 years later? Well, the icing on the cake is in the last few months we’ve noticed the odd baby slug on the surface top, normally in the morning. We didn’t think much of it. But recently there can be as many as 4 slugs either on the wall, surface top, or on the floor - how could this be if the windows are shut you ask? Well, upon further investigation it looks like there is a gap behind the toilet, in the bathroom unit which is against the outside wall, the only plausible explanation is that they didn’t correctly seal the gap to the outside which has led to bugs and damp/moisture coming into our bathroom. The mould gathering in the unit looks absolutely disgusting. I appreciate there are two sides to every story, but as someone who works in large commercial construction projects, as an engineer, there are few excuses that justify poor workmanship. It is genuinely one of the most shoddy jobs I’ve ever encountered. (For the record, we have phone messages and email receipts that support the aforementioned events and can prove them if needs be.) (EDIT) 29/08/2023 We’ve noticed the mould on the inside of the bathroom cabinet getting worse, water appearing on the vinyl flooring, and water marks appearing on the drywall in our bedroom (see photos). After calling a plumber in, they have said that most of our damp issues have come from the toilet not being installed correctly, which has leaked water into the foundations and brick work. Would love to hear what Bishops excuse would be for even more poor workmanship, no doubt will be blamed on us, the client. If you can’t even install a toilet correctly you’re in the wrong line of work. This is now going to cost us hundreds if not thousands to get the toilet, flooring, and wall fixed. Avoid this lot at all costs.

I phoned early morning and needed a plumber urgently. The plumber, Lex, came very quickly indeed and did an excellent job very professionally. Will always recommend and use them in future. Thanks to Bishops.

I requested the radiators checked and valves replaced if necessary. The plumber can, banged on the radiators, got 2 out of 3 working. Left without fixing the 3rd radiator, which is now leaking, due to him hitting it and not replacing the valve on it. He was there for 15 minitues and we were charged 96 pounds plus VAT. I'm not impress with this kind of service at all.

Called Bishops for a call out to our rental property and was told how much the job would cost based on an hourly charge. They arranged for the job to be completed with our tenant for the very next day. Very efficient, job done, everyone happy - fab!

Bishops were great from start to finish. Mick arrived 20 minutes early to service our water tank. He did all the checks, reset things, gave me an audit sheet of what he'd done and talked me through it. He was tidy, polite, efficient and friendly. And the invoicing process after was very quick, efficient and the team were helpful. All in all, I can't think of anything bad to say. Great job. I've made a repeat note in my calendar to call them every year for my water tank service.

I messed around looking for the cheapest possible plumber and ended up getting let down. I should have just gone straight to Bishops. They were quick, professional, experienced, and worth paying a little extra for. My only advice to the management is to give customers a little longer to pay the bill. We are all very busy and expecting payment on the same day is a little unreasonable in my opinion. 2-3 days would be fair. Nonetheless, I will be considering Bishops for our bathroom renovation next year.
