Today I visited the Retreat, I had booked a half day, which included a treatment and 2 course lunch. From the moment I arrived, the whole experience was lovely. I was greeted by my host, Julie who showed me all the facilities I was welcome to use, then I had my full body message by Emily who was brilliant, listen to my concerns and tackled them, beautifully relaxed. Lunch was served in a quite dining room, with a glass of bubbly. The food was delicious, all home cooked. The same as the bistro downstairs, which is open to the public. I spent the rest of the time relaxing and trying out their easytone exercise machines, 60mins of exercise no sweat. The facilities are immaculately clean and there a lovely relaxing atmosphere. Nothing is too much for the team. I don't usually do this sort of thing, but so pleased I came. Totally worth every penny. Please support this local spa.

I really can't recommend The Retreat enough. I've been coming here for a few years now for all my beauty needs and I've never been disappointed. The salon is incredibly professional, there is absolutely no "cliquey" feel about it whatsoever like you get in some salons. The beauticians all go above and beyond in their work. I'd also recommend their range of skincare "pevonia", after receiving some very thorough advice from Ella around which products to use and my skin has been so much better since. The reception staff are also incredibly plesant and when I forgot my card once and couldn't pay for my treatment, I was able to pay easily via bank transfer which they arranged for me without an issue. I love this place; nothing pretentious about it, just professional service from a lovely bunch of people.

We had a lovely day today with a yummy afternoon tea, followed by a hand/arm massage while sitting in the conservatory listening to the rain falling on the roof and relaxing music while in the rocker chairs. So relaxing! And the staff were so nice and friendly too. Thanks for a lovely day.

A fabulous place to visit, the staff are lovely and you are treated like you're one of the family. Huge range of beauty treatments & the place smells beautiful, makes you feel relaxed as soon as you walk through the door. Gorgeous food at the Bistro, lots of gluten free too! Had Christmas dinner here many times & it is always lovely & nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend this place for beauty & the Bistro. A great place to spend a few hours, or a half of full Spa day. Great parking available too. I love this place, feels like a second home. Thank you The Retreat! xx

From the minute I walked in - I loved this place! It has a real country feel. The staff were really walm and welcoming. I’ve had a mini pamper session and booked a relaxation package. It was perfect and just what I needed. I feel super relaxed! Olivia the therapist was great. I didn’t have a full afternoon tea ( my own choice ) but enjoyed my complimentary coffee! I would definitely return and recommend to others.

Avoid at all costs. Google won't let me upload the pictures of the acrylic nails that I was left with. After having perfect acrylic nails done at another salon, I came here to have them infilled where the nail technician proceeded to ruin them. Each nail is wonky, and each nail on the right hand is a completely different shape to the corresponding nail on the left hand. The nails are bumpy and thick and I cannot wait to have them removed. I politely paid so as not to upset the therapist or cause a drama, but immediately called the retreat once I'd left. I was refused a refund and told that I could go back and they would fix them. Unfortunately they did not have any appointments with a different technician for me to have them re-done before the weekend. It is important to me that I am comfortable this weekend as I am attending an event. I am embarrassed to have these nails on, it looks like a four year old has done them. I am now having to pay £40 to have them soaked off and completely re-applied this evening at a different salon. After emailing the retreat with pictures of their terrible workmanship and politely asking them for a refund before posting any reviews, they still refused to refund me £20. Their business must really be struggling. Steer clear of having your nails done here.
