Been going to Barberus for a while, tried a few other places but just not as professional as Darren! He knows his trade inside out and provides a consultative aspect to the profession. I always judge a good barber by how available he is and whilst he does do walk-ins when he has space. I would always suggest booking in with him via Booksy an he is usually fully booked (again a good sign of a top quality barber!) Highly recommend his services and very reasonable!
Above the door is a sign asking you to come in. I've tried on two occasions to pop in for a quick trim but have been turned away as "we are fully booked". On both occasions the guy was sitting in the window scrolling on his phone with an empty shop. Neither time did he say "sorry we're fully booked" or did he offer an alternative booking. So this review isn't based on the quality of barbering, but is based on poor client engagement and a dismissive demeanor.
My husband is a regular customer of Barberus. Can't fault it as he always comes home with a great haircut! But today, I brought my 15-month-old son for his first ever haircut and Darren was so good with him. He was very patient and didn't rush my son at all. He sat down and made him feel comfortable by playing with him. I was expecting the worst (as in my son crying the entire time) but we left with a great haircut and a great experience for my toddler! No tears at all. All smiles all around, so thank you Darren. We will be back again for a trim!

Have used Barberus for a long while now due to Darren’s consistency with quality. A very welcoming place with a nice atmosphere.
Update: Barberus subsequently offered a free cut to make up for this which was declined. Booked over the phone. Barber did not inform me of their ‘booking options’ over the phone and the website does not work, so when I booked a hair cut I was apparently wrong to assume that this would not allow me to get a clipper 0 blended up. Rough hair cut on top with the hair barely any shorter than when I went in. Long on the sides still, especially at the top. To top it off, despite being told I didn’t have the time for a fade he had used the first 5 minutes of my time slot on someone he thought was me and still rushed me out at bang on 25 minutes - maybe if he’d used the 5 minutes he’d spent on a client he mistook for my booking he might have been able to tidy up the top properly. Very unhappy, not many times you leave a barbershop and immediately try to find a booking elsewhere for the same day to fix it.
Always an excellent cut with great attention to detail and Darren ensures your hair looks great before you leave the shop! Expect compliments!!
