We had a lovely meal at the barn on the 22nd December. The staff were all friendly especially our lovely waitress Wiki who was great at upselling foods (well done to you). The only issue was having to wait 15 mins or so to be seated but there didn’t look to be many staff which is understanding. Would definitely be returning.
I always enjoy my time at The Barn and last night was no different. Greeted with a smile and friendly attitude. Introduced to our waitress who took our drinks order. Great atmosphere. Lovely staff who made time to speak to us rather than walk on by. Didn’t wait long for food to be served. No complaints with food or service. All round fantastic night.
I returned to the Barn after couple of years and I was unpleasantly surprised. The menu changed (the favourite meals are gone) so I thought I won't risk anything and decided to order chicked skewer. The amount of meat was shocking, plus there were exactly 2 small pieces of peppers and 2 tiny pieces of onion. I was still hungry after finishing my meal, although I left a bread behind. I came for cooked meal, not bread. Salad on side was nice but again, the tiny portion put me off. Bottomless soft drink for £4 is a rip off as I hadn't had s chance to ask for a refill as waitress was nowhere to be seen. A place I used to visit veery often and which I was speaking high of became so sad and lowered the standards, such a shame. Please bring back Ceasar salad and BIG bowls. You used to be 5 star! Bring it back
I have ate here a couple of time and it has never been that bad. The food is normally delivered quickly and with minimal fuss. But the atmosphere here is always very quiet and I think it’s lacking. I did get turned away this evening as there was not enough staff to serve us, even when the pub was empty. (Staffing was the issue here). In conclusion come here, but only when they have enough staff…
Lovely meal and catered for a large group last minute yesterday as we got cancelled on July another venue. Lovely staff, we even had our own area so the kids could enjoy too. I had king prawn starter, with sea bass to follow. My child had pasta, with corn on cob and peas, and my partner had fish and chips.
Chicken Makhani gravy was excellent. Dessert options were lovely. Great place to enjoy cozy lunch hours with the team.
Had the turkey roast from the festive menu and it was delicious! Have been here a few times before too and had one the best steaks ever here! Staff are always really friendly and great with checking allergies.
Lovely breakfast served quickly with very friendly staff. Have been before many times Good selection of cereal, yogurt, granola fresh fruit pana chocolate croissant and blueberry muffins if you didn't fancy the cooked breakfast which is unlimited. Great coffee machine too and a selection of teas. Would highly recommend
Visited during busy evening for a dinner and found rather great quality food at the Barn. We ordered Chargrilled Prawns and The House Stack burger. Food was very high quality and served hot. Fries and chips were perfectly cooked and the meat in the burger was well prepared and full of flavor. Drinks-wise we tried Blackurrant Royal and Coors beer. Cocktail was great but beer felt a bit watery. Service was great and staff helpful. One thing to note - where menu states 'two burgers' it actually means 'double burger'. Not sure why such nomenclature. Overall it was really good and will definitely try something else in the future.
Ambiance was good, food portion was really good. I really couldn’t finish my steak. Steak was good, could have been tastier though. Calamari was really nice and the desserts was the right amount of sweetness to top everything off. Overall, not a bad experience.
