Went for a major dressing change on Boxing day. Was seen promptly by a wonderful nursing team. Fabulous job done by lovely people. Excellent service in this wonderful unit. Many thanks team
Unless you visit early it is difficult to park the car. Quicker than waiting for a call back from your GP. Be prepared to wait sometime, unless you have a pre-arranged appointment via 111. It is however, quicker and less stressful than visiting Kettering A&E. There is a small cafe across the road, but have never been there.
I was seen reasonably quickly. Staff was kind and understanding to everyone there. When I was prescribed medication they took the time to check and insure it wouldn't interact with any of my other medications. I've always had to do this myself and have been prescribed medication that would interact and cause kidney failure before so this was really greatly appreciated.
I was directed to Corby Urgent Care by my GP, who had no available appointments. Unfortunately, my experience there was extremely poor from start to finish. The first issue was the reception. I was abruptly told to check myself in on a tablet, with no explanation of how the system worked—as if I should automatically know what to do. The tablets themselves were a nightmare to use: endless questions that felt overly complicated, especially if you’re not medically trained. I wasn’t the only one struggling; a mother next to me with a small child was having a hard time too. The worst part of the visit was the interaction with the doctor. She questioned why I came there instead of seeing my GP, even though I clearly explained that my GP had sent me. When I coughed and sneezed, she reacted with visible discomfort, left the room, and came back wearing a mask, as if it was shocking that sick people came to urgent care. She didn’t listen to half of my symptoms and only checked my chest. Her advice was basically to drink tea with lemon and contact my GP the next morning. She left the room abruptly without telling me whether the appointment was finished. A nurse was about to carry out further checks, but the doctor told her not to because she was going home. The next morning, I managed to see my GP and was prescribed antibiotics for a fairly bad sinus and ear infection. If I had received proper care at Corby Urgent Care, I might have started treatment nearly a full day earlier, which would have saved me a lot of pain. The overall customer service was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. This experience has seriously damaged my trust in this urgent care centre.
I live in Irchester , I walked into the Corby Treatment Centre today , from the moment I walked in I had nothing but first class treatment, very polite and I didn't at any time think I was being a nuisance. I wish there were more centres like this nearer to where I live . Also I'm sure it would relieve the pressure on the A&E departments. I was in and out in under 2 hours which included a X-ray. Came on Saturday been ill for 2 weeks. Had a massive cold and cough. Told the doctor that a night before couldn't sleep from my heavy cough,was sick and my back hurts so badly. Also had fever. Been advised by the doctor,that i am absolutely fine no matter i couldn't breathe properly. 'So go to pharmacy and get syrup!' Doctor said. Came back home and since Saturday can't get up from bed coughing non stop and can't even go to work. Been told to do covid test which came back negative. I am surprised that there are absolutely no help in cases like that. Cough syrup won't help me to get up and start functioning normally.
Thank you to all staff from reception through to clinical staff. You looked after my elderly neighbour so well today and reassured him throughout. We were expecting a long wait as it was very busy but were in and out within 2 hours. Keep up the good work.
Took my mum this evening. We were seen quickly and efficiently. My mum was looked after brilliantly and given some good advice as well as medication. Very friendly staff throughout the process.
Had to take my 3 year old son to see a doctor yesterday. Saw that there was a 2 hour wait to be seen, which was fine. It got to 2pm - 2 & 1/2 hours after I checked with reception to see how much longer, she said I’m one of the next…carried on waiting until it got to 3 hours, and I had to leave to pick up my other 2 children from school!! He was getting naughty because he was bored too. Everyone was lovely who I saw, I came away very upset that my son hadn’t been seen. I did get a call in my car as I left to say that I could be seen there and then, but it wasn’t good enough, as I had a half hour drive to get back to my other two. I guess the nurses strike didn’t help either.
This is an excellent service. I was assessed and then seen by a doctor within 40mins. This far exceeded my expectations as you just simply walk in and wait. I was suffering from an unexpected but painful ear problem and had been unable to get treatment from my own GP. The staff here are pleasant, polite and efficient. The facility itself is clean and tidy with plenty of parking. I was able to obtain the antibiotic treatment which was prescribed by the doctor from the on-site pharmacy too.
