   I am extremely disappointed with the standard of care and record-keeping I received at Specsavers. In January 2025, I was seen by an optometrist who told me I had cataracts and that they should be reviewed in six months. Unfortunately, this was not logged in the system. When I returned six months later, I was seen by a senior optometrist, who stated there was no issue and advised review only in August 2026. I was not comfortable with this conclusion. I therefore sought a second opinion from an independent optician, who identified dry macular degeneration and urgently referred me for cataract surgery. At my cataract assessment appointment, I was then informed that I actually have wet AMD in one eye. This is a serious, time-sensitive condition. Had I followed Specsavers’ advice and waited until August 2026, the consequences for my vision could have been severe. This experience highlights: A failure to record important clinical findings Conflicting assessments between practitioners A dangerous delay in identifying a sight-threatening condition I am very grateful I trusted my instincts and sought an independent opinion. Sadly, I no longer feel confident relying on Specsavers for eye health care.

   I took my daughter for a routine eye appointment at Specsavers and left very impressed. The staff were warm and engaging from the moment we arrived — they gave her a workbook, an age‑appropriate book, and even a fun sweets‑in‑a‑jar guessing game that helped her relax and enjoy the visit. The team made a real effort to put a child at ease, which made the eye test smooth and stress‑free for everyone. Clinically, the appointment felt professional and thorough; the optometrist explained the results clearly and answered our questions. I rated the experience 9 out of 10 because everything was excellent overall, with only very minor things (timing and small administrative details) keeping it from a perfect score. I’d happily recommend this store to other parents looking for a friendly, child‑focused eye test.

   I couldn't have received a more positive experience. It's been a long time since an eye test so had the full test and scan as well as chose and purchased glasses. I dealt with 5 members of staff including coming in to book an appointment. Every single member was not only friendly but incredibly personable and the communication between themselves as well as me was such a genuinely lovely experience with every single one. What is offered by staff is incredibly natural, genuine and honest, it doesn't feel like a sales pitch for upgrading glasses, being recommended glasses that don't suit you, having a test that includes you and explains everything during the process. It is incredibly rare and an experience I thoroughly appreciated, I wish I could articulate the specific traits of the team that made the experience feel fluid, and real.

   Excellent quality service from a kind, polite, professional and helpful team. I visited for an eye health examination via the urgent eye care service. Despite being quite clearly extremely busy, all of the team members who dealt with me did so with kindness and care. Booked appointments and walk ins were be handled as well as possible. I also witnessed a member of the team treated very unkindly by a customer in front of the whole store and they remained calm and professional throughout, continuing to show kindness and offering as much help to the customer as possible, despite the unfair way they had been treated. I would highly recommend this store and definitely visit again.

   This branch has always been great and it’s my second time buying glasses here in 4 years. A particular thank you to Kerim and Kya who were the ultimate professionals in their roles. Kerim made my eye test really insightful and was really helpful. Kya was equally fantastic in supporting me to select and chose my glasses whilst easily explaining offers/discounts and deals through out. I can’t wait to get my new glasses next week!    Always fantastic customer care and had an eye test with Farhan today who was brilliant. He gave me lots of advice on eye care, eye drops for dry eyes, diet and was so lovely and professional. He talked me through how my eye test was compared to 2 years ago in depth. All staff are so attentive and care very much about their customers which is why I never go any where else. Well done all at Spec Savers Bedford.

   This is a very popular and always busy opticians. Service is consistently quick and exams for hearing or vision are very thorough. The selection of frames is vast and cover a range of prices. After sales service is excellent. I recently lost one of my nose pads and they replaced it while I waited at no cost.

Thank you in particular to Louisa for exceptional customer service, particularly when trying on my contact lenses and helping me to feel less nervous etc.
