   Overall, Derngate Lofts is a nice place to live and generally quieter than many other apartments in town center. The corridors, lobby, communal garden, and shared areas are well kept, and the neighbors are all lovely, which makes for a pleasant community. That said, there are some ongoing issues worth noting. A major problem is with the windows: many apartments have windows that either don’t open, don’t close properly, or fail to seal. This issue has been reported by more than 10 tenants across the building. Despite multiple attempts to have them inspected, the windows cannot be properly repaired as they are all interconnected, and the supplier no longer provides replacements so there is literally nothing they can do. Another concern is security. Parcels are often left in the lobby and have been stolen, I myself have lost many deliveries so anything expensive I do a collection to the local shop whom have been amazing. Another instance of security would be a friend’s bike was taken within just two hours of being left in the lobby. When CCTV footage was requested from Encore (the management company of the building) to help report the theft to the police, the request was denied and then ignored. In summary, while Derngate Lofts offers a quiet and friendly environment with clean communal areas, unresolved maintenance issues and poor security measures are definite drawbacks.
