Convenient and tasty. Good pit stop before the road North to Birmingham and Oxford. Literally just off the Junction.
Delicious food lovelly staff and a home cooked cakes, possibly the cleanes food anniversary ever seen worth the visit .
Wasn’t the worst but definitely not the best, the burger was nice, eggs were like plastic and the hasbrowns were awful, greasy and stuck to the bag and completely fell apart before we could even get them out, the girls serving were really nice though, wouldn’t rule them out again completely
I've often driven straight past this roadside cafe, but today, I thought I'd drop in after swimming in the River Itchen. I wasn't disappointed. Salamander Catering Caravan is just off Junction 11 of the M3; you can find it in the first set of laybys near the South Winchester Park and Ride. I found parking in front of the cafe, which was perfect for jumping out and grabbing some food. The staff were super friendly; while waiting for my order, we chatted, making me feel incredibly welcome. I ordered a delicious latte and an egg banjo (egg roll); they have a full menu which I included in my review. My egg banjo was perfectly cooked; it was super tasty and just what I needed after my cold water dip. This cafe is often used by passing traffic; however, it's ideally located to serve those walking around the local area. It would help to consider the busy road the cafe sits on before crossing. I recommend stopping at the Salamander Catering Caravan. The menu looked like it had loads of choices. The food and drink were perfect; the staff were helpful and got my order ready quickly. It's a five-star review from me.

Best burger van around really good food, the doorstep sandwiches and burgers are amazing !! Really friendly helpful staff, nothing is ever a problem and always make time for a quick chat. Only burger van I trust not to make me ill , you see them cleaning constantly throughout the day and they have 5star hygiene rating Don't miss out
Fabulous service. Great tea and wow! What a bacon sandwich! Half a loaf in two slices of bread.
Stopped here for a quick nap, not realising there was a café but what a beautiful way to wake up... met with a big beaming smile, and very reasonably priced menu, grabbed a coffee and was on my way.... Plenty of parking on both sides, and a very busy spot - other reviews speak for themselves! 5* service!!! Will definitely favourite this spot...
Posting on behalf of a pal who just shared his love of this place with me. "Best burger van around by far". I have to say I am mightily impressed by the size of their breakfast sandwiches! I'm reliability informed that the rest of the menu is just as generous and good value too.
