Wow - what an unforgettable evening at Gandhi! We celebrated a birthday with a group of ten, and from start to finish everything was flawless. The food was exceptional - every dish bursting with flavour, beautifully fresh, and presented with real care. The service was impeccable and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. A heartfelt thank you to Ronnie and his wonderful team for making the night so memorable. We left feeling truly spoiled - and we’ll absolutely be back!

A superb meal, 4.5 rating, with professional attentive staff! Really good to try some new options, loved the mixed starter! Very nicely presented, wasn’t as keen on the chicken tikka, not as much to our tastes but still very good. Nans were incredible. A little on the pricey side and staff tip added on automatically, they deserved it but I would rather add on at my own discretion! Will visit again, thank you

We visited as a group of two and requested to be seated at a table that could accommodate three people, in case our friend joined later. We were told we needed to be sure about the third person as the restaurant was apparently busy, even though it was quiet at the time. We ordered poppadums, and while we were still eating them, the staff came over saying that our mains were ready. They removed our side plates and asked us to hold the poppadums in our hands so they could place the dinner plates. Throughout the meal, two different servers came to ask when the third person would arrive, and we explained that we weren’t sure as he was caught up somewhere. Barely five minutes later, a man who seemed to be the manager approached and told us that we would have to vacate the table by 8:00 pm, even though it was only 6:30 pm. Obviously we weren't planning to spend the rest of the night in the restaurant! It was extremely embarrassing and made us feel unwelcome, as if we had done something wrong by mentioning a third guest. Every waiter seemed to be watching us, and the overall atmosphere felt uncomfortable. The food itself was not good, and the service was below par. The only positive was two polite servers, one of them a Bangladeshi gentleman, who were courteous and friendly. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff were quite rude and unwelcoming.

I attending this restaurant with my very good Bangladeshi friend. I thought the food was great. But he was even more impressed with the traditional Bengali dishes. 1 egg and 1 fish. Excellent. Great friendly service. If you like curry in general you will not be disappointed.

I have to say, this is easily one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever been to. The service was outstanding – the staff were not only friendly but genuinely attentive, making us feel welcome from start to finish. As for the food, it truly stole the show. Every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. We left thoroughly impressed and are already looking forward to returning on our next trip to Winchester. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely meal at this smart restaurant, superbly situated in the City centre. We ordered a wide variety of dishes and as regular patrons of quality Indian restaurants I can heartily recommend The Gandhi. The staff were all excellent, the service was first class and the food was exceptional.

We had such delicious food here last night. I had monk fish curry and bf had ox cheek. Both were so delicious! Staff are very friendly and so attentive. The service was brilliant!! Just to add for the price we paid, we also had a starter and drinks. Thank you! 5⭐

Excellent Indian food and service. Very authentic with a good amount of spices. Portion sizes were good as well, with fair prices.

Context: Wife and I ate here in Sep-2022 while visiting the city. Pros: Excellent food. Extensive menu with lots of specials. Relaxed, place. Attentive staff. Good dairy-free options and clear allergy labels. Cons: None Note: What we had was a notch or two spicier than similar dishes at other restaurants we've visited, and perhaps hotter than one might expect from the menu's labelling. (Good stuff, though!) Choices: I had the seabass starter and the beef fry main course (very tender). Both were great. Conclusion: Strongly recommend.
