   This may honestly be the best chinese takeaway I’ve ever been to. Reasonably priced, especially for the quality of the food and the location. I’ve tried to find other takeaways that compare to it when not at uni, but haven’t been able to.

   Been going to this place for many years since jack retirerd the meals have gone down hill. We just bought a chicken curry with egg fried rice and a beef curry with egg fried rice. The rice was not cooked and was hard in both meals my wife had beef curry and the beef was cold in the middle so we had to throw it away so £40 gone down the drain. Will not be eaten from here anymore.

   Ordered via phone & pickup - sweet and sour chicken balls, egg fried rice, a tofu bean sauce dish, and bbq sauce. Got to the phoenix and my food was nicely cooked and ready. The food was really good and the chicken was cooked well, but the bbq sauce felt off - it was like some weird gravy (as others on here have pointed out) and my vegetarian friends said it tasted like chicken, so I had to finish the rest.

   I ordered sweet and sour prawn balls, but opted to change the sweet and sour sauce for bbq sauce. Unfortunately, my prawn balls batter was undercooked and my bbq sauce tasted like gravy. I also got my son a meal, which he refused to eat when mine was undercook. For this reason I will not be ordering again, sadly!

   We have been using Jack's chinese over many years but then it changed hands which lead us to use somebody else. We have recently been back and found it to be as good as Jack's if not better. 100% would recommend. Thanks Russell

   When ordering on the phone was told it would be 25mins. (Would only be 15mins when Jack ran the shop.) Was waiting for about an hour in total. Man behind the counter can't communicate with people instead just bellowing the orders as loud and quick as possible, leaving everyone scratching their heads. Made the 5-7 minute drive home and food was cold. Won't be bothering them again!
