This is a fantastic school , the staff are excellent , and always approachable. The Head Teacher clearly loves his job and his children, and they love him. My son is in yr 3 and enjoys everything about this school . The school regularly runs different events and trips and celebrates multi- cultural festivals. Parents are encouraged to become actively involved in their children's education and there is a variety of after school clubs offered. If you are looking for a Primary school please come and have a look around , you will be impressed.

Initially when we moved to the area we visited the school I was kindly shown around by the Head Teacher Mr Bright who really sold it to me. He and his wife Ms Stuart spent some time showing me around the site, which was not particularly clean or tidy. The children were quite noisy and not particularly well behaved, but the heads wife assured us that behaviour was not an issue at the school. We looked at other local school,s which certainly were cleaner and quieter and had better behaved children but at the end of the day the fact that we could walk to the school in 10 minutes clinched it for us. After just two terms we realised that we had made a massive mistake. Almost immediately, the behaviour and language of our boys had taken a turn for the worst and despite talking to both of their teachers no-one particularly listened, or dare I say even cared about the behavioural concerns we raised. As the third term approached we decided enough was enough so we moved the boys to Ecton Brook. They are now happier, better spoken, better behaved and Dave and myself are much happier. Having lived in the area a little over a year now we have noticed that is always children in Standens uniform that are causing the trouble and swearing near the green which we think speaks volumes about the type of children who go there.

"My Best Your Best Our Best" so it says on the school sign as you enter the small little primary school.

Thoroughly disappointed with the management of the school. Raised a complaint of bullying with head who fobbed us off and didn’t take complaint seriously. With the help of Ms Stewart the head insisted that bully and my son sat together making his life hell. Moved to another school and everything is much better.
