   Very neatly presented store, just off of the market square. Plenty of different designs and styles on show for all manner of occasions, settings and taste. I called ahead to inquire about a set of suede brogues that I was interested in, to make sure they had stock in size, otherwise it would have been a wasted hour round trip. When I arrived 35-40 mins later, André, the gentleman with whom I had spoken earlier recognised me by my voice and remembered exactly what I had inquired about. With the kind of grace and class that One might expect from someone in a store a hundred years ago, he led me straight over to the options he thought best fitted the description I had given and we settled on one to try. When I tried them on, I thought they were fine but he was able to see that there was movement at the heel and was keen to express that, with time, they would give a little which would make this movement more profound, potentially causing discomfort and increasing the wear on the shoe itself. This is integrity, folks; he could have just made an easy sale and been done with it. Through trial and error with sizes (my feet are quite narrow so often it's hard to find shoes which are a solid fit), we settled on the wider version of the shoe but a whole size down. I couldn't have been happier. So happy in fact, that I bought a set of loafers whilst I was at it too. In a world where people are looking to make a quick buck and will do anything to get it, I find it refreshing to deal with a company that has almost 150 years of history in producing quality British products, and where the staff aren't just polite, but have a sense of grace, class and principle about them. 10/10 will go there when the weather starts turning to look at their selection of boots. Well done Loakes and to André, I doff my cap to you good Sir, a true ambassador to the brand.

   I have recently been looking for the right pair of shoes to go with my tailored suit … Without a doubt I had come to the right place. I was warmly greeted by Aurora who couldn’t have been more knowledgeable and helpful. I showed her the colour of my suit and was shown a range of shoes that would go with it and as soon as I saw the Larch range I was sold. This is my first pair of Locke Shoes and due to the outstanding customer service I received it won’t be the last. Thank you. Ben
