I write this as I sit here in the shop savouring every mouthful, this truly has to be one of derbys hidden gems . Food taste amazing , the jerk chicken is out of the world and the dumplings are incredible
As a bajan, I'm always on the prowl for good Caribbean Soul food, and Raj's combinations exceeded expectations. I had mutton with rice & peas, mac n cheese with jerk pork and coleslaw, plus two dumplings. ( Good hearty portions too !!!!!! ) Absolutely delicious .. full flavoured on the tongue, aromatic on the nose and the service and attention to detail is second to none* Little sandwich bar, with a big menu and bigger flavours. 5 star, 2 thumbs up*
Really nice guy, the food is brilliant. We got a salad box a couple of mornings ago. Then came back tonight for the jerk chicken, mutton curry and chicken curry. Everything was perfectly cooked, flavours were amazing. Would recommend 100% Best meal I've had for a while. We used to love it before but love it even more now! Customer service is really great and prices are good!
Update: went back again for the Caribbean food. The family and I had some curry goat, curry mutton and oxtail. I think the pictures speak for themselves. Authentic Caribbean cuisine. I am from the Caribbean and should know! Tried the smash burger and the jerk chicken pannini with cheese. Amazing! Portion sizes are good and I was stuffed. Service was quick and friendly. While not big, there is seating available. I was able to enjoy my food while having an ice cold Ting. I can't wait to try the Caribbean specials! Also had the Oreo cheesecake and it was the best I've had.
Reopened with new owners and the food is absolutely delicious. Friendly staff always willing to meet your needs and affordable, fair prices. I am loving their new Caribbean specials. Definitely visiting again. The jerk chicken panini with cheese is a must-try.
Went here for a quick lunch, and I was not disappointed. The Sticky Maple chicken Pannini was superb very delicious and the staff were very warm and welcoming
Went yesterday and had a very nice sausage and bacon cob with a hot chocolate was very nice. Staff were nice and friendly. Would recommend going there.
The sandwiches are amazing! But what makes this shop even better is the friendly staff. This combination is literally enough reason to visit again and again and again! Definitely recommend it!
Full English Breakfast tray, tasty, only downside the sausage looked very pale, not fried or grilled enough. I’m revisiting my review to change star rating to 5 stars after a very good experience with a sausage bacon egg and black pudding cob fantastic!!!!
Brilliant place. Popped in for a couple of sandwiches. Both were lovely and made to order. Had a great chat about films and TV too!
