   Great pub. Staff who actually care, fast service, and a proper welcoming atmosphere. Food is spot-on, portions are generous, and the pints are kept perfectly. Consistent, clean, and always a good time. Easily a five-star place.

   Oh dear. Came for Sunday lunch only to find they had run out of roasts. First big disappointment as that was one of the main reasons for choosing this pub! We then ordered food but waited over an hour before starters arrived. Then another 30 minutes before we got our main courses. Mine was missing half the vegetables advertised. When I queried it, I was told they had run out so just didn’t serve them! So basically I only had half a meal. Lots of other customers around us were complaining, mainly due to the long waits, but also others whose meals were incorrect. The place seemed to be horrendously understaffed and under stocked, really poorly organised. The poor bar man was on his own, serving drinks as well as waiting tables and running in and out of the kitchen to check what was happening with food. Felt so sorry for him. All in all not a good experience. The only saving grace was the food was tasty and prices good value. But would not return.

   Another great trip to the county arms last week. My partner and I came in for some food, the small plates deal was recommended to us by a member of staff with dark hair and glasses and we were highly impressed. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Will definitely be making this a regular haunt.

   Had lunch here with a couple of friends. Have to say the whole experience was great. We didn’t have to wait long for our food to arrive and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The manager was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning.

   Had an amazing server this afternoon around 12:50 she brought my drink over as I left it at the bar by accident making light conversation. It was a very pleasant experience, food came out quickly and my blue light card was accepted which was an even better bonus. Staff here have always been good natured to myself and my colleagues very welcoming and some even remember our orders! That made us feel very accepted. Keep up the good work!

   Me and the missus came for dinner and were left impressed by both food and staff. They originally brought out the wrong meal for me, but soon rectified it and brought with them a free round of drinks. The staff are the friendliest staff in winchester. All round brilliant pub.
