Katie has been cutting, colouring and styling my hair for over 20 years. I would highly recommend Katie for her knowledge, advice, skill and friendliness. I have hair extensions with Katie and I get lots of compliments on them - you wouldn’t know the hair isn’t my own! I look forward to my appointment each time- we have a natter, whilst I sit in the welcoming salon with a cuppa, and I leave with hair that makes me smile.
Katie at The Strand has cut and coloured my hair for years now and I would absolutely not go anywhere else. She is professional, experienced and so knowledgeable about her trade. The salon itself is lovely, always a great vibe and lots of personality. My hair is always perfect after Katie has finished with it, I’d recommend her services to anyone.
Excellent all round. Came to have my wedding nails done.First time coming to the salon and it was so relaxed and the atmosphere is lovely; you don’t feel like you have to engage in ‘chitchat’ if you don’t want to. Nelly did an excellent job; she is very attentive to detail and I got exactly what I asked for. Well worth the money I spent. Will definitely be back in the future!
James is not only a cracking, genuine and lovely guy but also the best barber who has cut my hair in my 45 years. Can’t recommend him enough.
I had a wonderful experience getting my hair and make-up done by Rachael and Nelly for my wedding in September 2021! They were both very professional and friendly during the trials and helped me choose a style that fits my personality. Rachael was very understanding and flexible with some last minute changes, caused by the pandemic. I couldn't have been in better company on the morning of the wedding - both made me feel at ease and everything was on time. When my makeover was finished I felt beautiful and ready to meet my groom and our guests! I would strongly recommend the salon to anyone for their special occassions!
Absolutely lovely staff, always so friendly and welcoming. Vicky always gives my young girls and I a fab haircut each visit. Wouldn't go anywhere else and would recommend to anyone looking for a hairdresser.

A brilliant hair salon, I've been going here for around 10 years and would not go anywhere else. Vicky has a real talent both as a hairdresser and someone who can listen and is genuinely a lovely person. She always does a fantastic job and trust her 100% with my hair and has never left feeling like I want to wear a hat or hide away whilst my hair grows back! She's also fantastic at incorporating colours into my hair. Even my boyfriend now goes to the barbers where Lee cuts his hair and finds it to be a much more styles cut compared to other places he's been to in the past.
