   Quite pricey, but this store anywhere usually is. Very clean store with helpful staff. Alyssa greeted us on entry and signalled us to the gluten free items. 5 stars for her but overall a 3. Very limited gluten free items and I believe no dairy free items. It is 2026 so please catch up M&S. Probably best for the 'mealdeal'

   Some sandwiches are not part of the meal deal and some are so when you checkout it's a lot more expensive. Same with the snacks which are placed directly with the sandwiches and drinks. Asked staff and it was "oh sone are sone aren't". Wow thanks M&S.

   A special shout out to Roksana, the staff member who served me at this M&S Simply Food motorway services .... The salad pots I'd purchased tasted better b'cos of her helpful manner:) Nice enough stocked store tho' quite pricey. Would like a better choice of cold drinks/fruit juices and Indian meals.

   Went to buy a meal deal I normally do elsewhere but not here. Then went back with items included in the meal deal but still wanted more. So, if my own conspiracy theory is correct, M&S bank on shoppers buying multiple items and not checking the meal deal discounts. Disgraceful!!

   Smoothie 500ml in the sandwiches section is £2.25. With the milk and juice, 750ml of the same stuff is £2. There can be no other justification for this other than fleecing their customers. And to think this shop has a good reputation!

   Stopped at M&S Simply Food at Reading Services on Sunday 30th of July, to buy journey snacks and dinner for when we returned home after 6 hours on the road .... the service was horrendous, NOT M&S standard at all. The staff who were working there clearly didn’t want to be there. One member of the team was using aggressive hand gestures and grunting to make all customers use the self service tills, which is fine if you only have a few items. I was buying about £60 of items so could of done with a hand, but he was standing around trying to look busy (apart from one lady who showed me where the sushi was). Very frustrating and disappointing experience for me, and sloppy management on M&S’s part. The M&S senior management team need to take a closer look and keep an eye on that branch, maybe you’re not looking after your staff properly hence the lack of enthusiasm and possibly some basic customer service skills training could be applied.
