   If I could give zero stars, I would! It all started on a Friday afternoon — I was desperate to get back to Edinburgh and this garage was the only one willing to take a look at my car. At that point, I thought I’d found a lifesaver. Spoiler alert: I was very, very wrong. Before even touching the car, the mechanic said he’d need £45 “just to have a look at it.” Fine, I thought — fair enough if it helps me get home. He then told me I needed two new injectors and, since it was “urgent,” he’d kindly charge me £520 each. (How generous!) I had no choice but to agree. He told me to bring the car back at 10 a.m. Saturday — except, small detail, he didn’t actually show up until midday. Not even a “sorry for the wait,” just casually strolls in like nothing happened while I was minutes away from giving up and booking a train. He said it would take 3 hours. Naturally, it took 4.5. When I finally got the call to collect it, surprise! A third injector had apparently decided to give up. Another £520 gone — total bill: £1,560, plus the £45 for the privilege of being ripped off in the first place. A week later, my car started smelling like something was burning. (That’s always a comforting scent.) Took it to another garage, and the poor guy nearly fainted when he saw the “work” that had been done. Loose clamps and cables, screws rattling around like maracas, injectors “sealed” with tape — yes, tape! Which, of course, melted and caused a fuel leak. Honestly, I don’t know how this garage is still open. Maybe sheer luck or divine intervention. Either way, I wouldn’t trust them to fix a bicycle, let alone a car. Save yourself the money, the stress, and the burning smell — go literally anywhere else.

   Despite the arctic winter, I was absolutely impressed with the work carried out outdoors to replace a tyre. I have never seen such an amazing work ethic and had a customer focused experience with any other garage previously. The garage is small in size, but big on giving customers a great experience.

   Previously great sevice and price on several occasions. Recently he seams to have taken on more work than he can manage, after booking in for a repair that he said would take a day, took the car round the car in for 4 days later as booked. Another week pasted and he ghosted me. Wouldn't answer phone or whats app messages but would answer when phoned from a differnt number. Eventually a week after dropping car off went round in person and collected it, completely un tounched with excuses of ''things snowballing". Would have had no issues with the wait and even it being an increased if he had been honest from the start or at least kept updated on the timescale.

   Have had Dougie do some work on both my cars. He is a trustworthy mechanic with fair prices. Communication could be better but overall very satisfied and will continue using Dougie for my car mot/services and repairs.
