I started off with a good experience with this practice 6 years ago under Russell, but unfortunately there's been a changeover in staff quite a few times and i've had dental nurses claim I had 3 fillings needed, which after a different Dr claimed my teeth were absolutely fine. Now getting 2 different major opinions on the status of your teeth is bound to have you lose trust in the dental care industry and have you wonder if there's a scam culture running it. Then the last visit I had, a new dentist tried telling me that the NHS was completely dropping dental care and pushed for me to go private just to get a filling. Now my teeth honestly aren't the worst at all, I've never had any tooth ache or any particular problems. Now what happened next baffled me. I wasn't sent any reminder of an appointment coming and they charged me £30 for missing it. I don't think i'll be going back to this practice as it's looking like they're just looking to get as much money from people over genuine dental practice.

Would not recommend this dentist, new ownership and male dentist that is very rough and doesn’t stop when you ask due to pain putting you in severe discomfort. I have never felt so traumatised from a dentist in my whole life, left shaking and crying with a new fear of the dentist. All the other colleagues are very nice and I can’t speak on the other dentists however this one dentist has made me never want to go back. Will be registering at a new practice. Not the type to post a review but I don’t want anyone else to experience what I have. Never had any problems before the change of ownership.

I’ve just had to walk out of this dentist practice untreated and in tears. This was an emergency appointment as I’ve just moved to the area and the first appointment I have with another practice isn’t until august. I didn’t catch the name of the dentist but he was so rude and spoke to me and my autistic son so badly I had to ask him to stop and leave. The dental assistant was lovely and seemed to pick up on his attitude so she tried to make small talk while he continued to treat us so badly. I’ve never experienced anything like this from a health professional. He didn’t allow me to explain what the problem was, he was extremely rough and sliced the bottom of my mouth with the plastic they use for X-rays and when I asked him to stop he insisted I endure the pain. I wanted to let the receptionist know what happened but I was so upset from the experience I couldn’t get the words out and had to just leave.

The best dentist we have been to. Russell and co are professional and thorough. It's modern practice up to date technology and they send out appointment reminders.

The service provided by Russell and the staff and Skene Street Dental was second to none. As a very nervous patient with a severe phobia of dentists spanning back years, I was put at ease very quickly and offered sedation for the treatment. Made the extractions and fillings a very pleasant experience. Definitely recommend if you are a nervous patient.

After having a few problems with my teeth and gums moving to Skene Street Dental was a good move. Russell offers advice and goes over everything which needs to be done. The dental nurses are lovely and I always feel at ease.

The service provided by Russell and his staff at Skene Street Dental is highly professional yet friendly at the same time. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the reception staff and instantly felt at ease. Russell's was extremely kind, patient and attentive. He explained everything he was doing which made me fell more relaxed. His attention to detail and care towards his patent is second to none and I wouldn't think twice about going anywhere else for my dental care.
