    Rude and unhelpful staff. I'd never return to that shop ever again. The only reason I gave one star is because I couldn't give none! They all need training in customer service absolutely the worst service ive ever had. Avoid and go to hedge end.

    Not sure what's happened to Wicks since I last visited about a year ago but the staff are not as helpful as they once was. The products are still decent but some items for example the pre mixed concrete was covered up by a number other mixed concrete bags inside heavy duty ones but not labelled so we couldn't find the one item we needed. The prices have always been fair but this store has seen better days.

    DO NOT DO A KITCHEN RENOVATION FROM HERE. They are fine up until after you have signed it off. Josey promised many things that was going to be included, and then when it came down to it, the contractors had no idea and then we had to pay more to get what we wanted. This is a long story short. And then we explained the tap we wanted and we were also told we would get that too but then we had to pay extra eventhough it was included in the contract! Josey is a money grab, which makes sense as they work on commission. Don’t bother ringing customer services as they will put u on hold, not answer you, transfer you to 100 different people and never sort it out. I ended up buying another tap from wren . Should’ve gone wren instead. I know someone is going to respond to this saying contact customer services, but what’s the point? i already have, and been ignored after being told it would get sorted - it didn’t. I have recommended everyone i know to go wren instead and they have done it there and loved it there as they care about what you actually want and aren’t a money grab. Josey is two faced. She said yes we can do that to everything we wanted done and then had to pay extra, around 10k more than the quoted, which we had to pay because we signed the contract. DO NOT GO HERE, not stress free or fun at all. I haven’t even mentioned the quality issues or the supply and delivery issues. Should’ve checked the reviews. The wickes in a different city was amazing, but this store ain’t.

    Very poor experience at Wickes Soton and sadly - this shop is just a massive stain on the entire Travis Perkins group. Benchmarx, Toolstation, City plumbing, TP itself.. Everywhere you will be met with friendly and helpful service - but do not expect it from that awful Southampton branch. I went to the shop at 18:40 (20 minutes before closing). Choose the colours and press the button for assistance with the paint mixer. After the third ignored call, I went to the till. Waited with the small queue. 15 minutes before shop closure I was refused to be served. I was told, that the mixing machine was switched off (nope - Simon, you lied - it was up and running). Simon also said "No, it is not happening today". I am certain Dulux would love to know how you disrespect your customers. Paint mixing takes about 7 minutes (including shaking). When asked about the name to put in the complaint, some very unpleasant lady previously engaged only in observing the cashier (did not intorduced herself - could be a cleaner) said I can complain to her. She was verbally aggressive and also refused to say her name/title. I am not surprised - they know they fu.... up and were afraid to admit it. Unusually disrespectful experience. Saturday 09/09/2023

    Steer clear of using their bathroom installation service. I used them to install my main bathroom and ensuite. After 3 months I was finally informed of an installation date. The goods would not have been delivered in time for the installation had I not have chased them. On the day of installation I call my installer to discover he had quit Wickes the week before as they failed to pay him. Wickes didn't contact me and then when I raised this with them they assured me that both bathrooms would be completed to a high standard within one week. Its been well over 3 weeks and there are still unresolved issues relating to the electrics and their failure to supply a correct bathroom cabinet. They have also left my ceilings with bare plaster informing me that decorating isn't part of the contract. You pay a lot more using Wickes believing you will get the whole project done with less hassle. They have treated me appallingly and I warn anyone thinking of using them to stay well away

    Would have given zero star if I could. I shopped in store and bought 6 items only on 29 Jan 2023, and the till lady had scanned one of the item twice (which I only bought one piece). Speechless service. This same mistake had happened more than once in this store, I was so regret I haven’t checked the receipt immediately this time, until now.

    Sample pots of paint are completely different to the actual pot. Both in terms of quality and colour. Most of the flooring was either damaged or out of stock. This particular branch seems close to closing down. Would not recommend

    Ordered click and collect. As one enters, there is a screen at the counter all the way around with two SMALL gaps and nobody manning them. Kenny was in cubicle, but he was in the phone and so I just asked ‘click & collect’ to which he responded grumpily: ‘be with you in a minute’. There were other colleagues free who were doing their own thing work wise. Kenny got off the phone, took his time filling out a form and filing then asked for my name which I gave him. Then he asked for number as he couldn’t find name. Then did more form filling and filing. Then told me to go around before he got out my purchases and thanked me nicely. All in all, it was an experience, but not one that I’d want to go thru again. Click and collect for two items took a tad under TEN minutes! So a polite, but slow service. I’ve have to say though, that the place is pretty well stocked and bright and clean. I’ll still keep on shopping there! Went in today to be served by a very polite, helpful and efficient young lady of Indian heritage... her efforts are sufficient to want to continue shopping at this branch!!
