Very busy with very hard working staff that help you to have a prompt stay. Parking on the other hand is always a nightmare with too may people looking for too few spaces.

Two appointments in the heart and lung clinic keeping me there for most of Xmas Eve probably isn't everyone's idea of fun but I've waiting a long time to get these investigative procedures so I'll take it. When I received a phone call the day before to ask if I'd consolidate the appointments into one later in the afternoon I jumped at the chance. Come Xmas Eve morning, when I received a further phone call to ask if I'd come in for an appointment within 45 minutes instead, it took me about 60 seconds to work out the logistics before saying yes. Traffic was light, the hospital car park half empty, and I arrived 10 minutes ahead of my revised appointment, ready to be weighed and measured. I was greeted by a delightful nurse by the name of Georgina who recognised me immediately as having been the person she'd phoned a little over half an hour earlier. Georgina took me through and planted me on the scales. There was a groan, not from the scales but from me, at the amount of weight I'd put on in the 3 years during which I've been unable to exercise. Weighed and measured, I sat waiting to be scanned. The waited turned out to be somewhat longer than expected. After 20 minutes I returned to the front desk to enquire as to the delay. No sooner had the lady on reception disappeared to find out, I was called through by a lady in blue scrubs. The lady in blue led me into a dimly lit room, asked me to strip to the waist and to get on the bed. Having had echo scans before, this was nothing new to me. The Lady in Blue is Liz, armed with an ultrasound machine and a tube of cold jelly. We engaged in conversation as Liz scanned my chest. Apparently my errant heartbeat made things less than straight forward but nothing she couldn't handle. Liz was the perfect hostess. I felt very much at ease, chatting as I would with someone I'd known for a while. Once Liz has finished covering me in jelly, she went to find my next appointment host whilst I did my best to mop up. Liz returned with Sadie, who brought with her a box of tricks. Sadie was now going to attach sticky pads to my torso, clip leads to them, the other end being attached to a heart monitor which I'll be wearing for 3 days. Familiar with the process, I'd shaved down in advance, making Sadie's job easier, and a little less painful for me. It only took a few minutes for Sadie to attach everything and confirm I understood the do's and don't. I signed the paperwork, got dressed and Liz led me back though the maze to civilization. I thanked her and apologised for having been less than gracious on first meeting. Everyone I encountered behaved impeccably. They were nothing less than totally professional, delightful and welcoming. Other than the 20 minute wait I would say that my experience could not have been better, but I put that down to process failure and the hospital computer system. Special thanks to Georgina, Liz and Sadie in the Heart and Lung Clinic. Merry Christmas.

As long as you are dropped off there is no problem at the main entrance

Had a long wait even though I had an appointment although, as I had another appointment which was getting close, the staff were very accommodating and helpful. I made my next appointment with no seconds to spare.

Very busy entrance currently undergoing alterations. Very very limited drop off area with NO short term parking to aid a person to their appointment. Alot of wasted space outside the entrance more for aesthetics than practical use . Do we need lawns and flower beds outside the entrance? Or do we need 20 minutes parking drop off space to aid people to there appointments? Also needs a separate entrance/parking area for ambulances and taxis. Designers need to consult the people who use the buildings rather than what looks good on a piece of paper

Easy to access. No wait. Masks were available, just finding parking take bit of time.
