   My referral was initially accepted and I was offered an appointment for an assessment but could not attend on that particular day due to work. Kerry then contacted me and rescinded the offer of an assessment due to lack of available clinicians and her feeling it was not suitable before I’d even had an assessment. Most unhelpfully I was told that I shouldn’t really have been seen the last time I was referred either which made me feel awful and like I’d wasted services. I have been advised to go private/out of area which means more waiting and chasing. I feel I ought to have had an assessment honoured if the initial referral was accepted before just assuming from the notes that I don’t meet the criteria. What a waste of time and it also leaves me and my GP with all the running around. I understand services may have limits and criteria but I did feel it was unfair not to honour the assessment and for Kerry to say that if she has been the one to review it that it would not have been accepted (after it already had been). It left me feeling quite dismissed.
