Extremely poor service - this was a company we were intending to use on a number of projects but unfortunately we didn’t even complete the first before the wheels started falling off. Lengthy delays with their suppliers’ transport, seemingly blaming everyone but themselves, taking no accountability or giving any confirmation about new delivery dates, and leaving customers in the lurch with no clarity on new timescales. Absolute shambles.

My Experience Creating the Dream Kitchen Inspiration and Initial Challenges For as long as I can remember, my dream kitchen has been an “in frame painted kitchen.” After doing considerable research, however, I realised this vision seemed beyond my budget, especially since the new kitchen would be quite large. We visited many of the well-known high street kitchen suppliers, but I was not satisfied with the compromises required to keep within our financial limits. Discovering the Painted Kitchen Company While browsing Instagram, I came across the Painted Kitchen Company and decided to visit their Christchurch showroom. I immediately sensed that with some careful planning and extra effort, I could achieve my ideal kitchen at an affordable price. Armed with a scale ruler and graph paper, I mapped out the design. John was helpful and provided advice and renders to show what the space would look like. After several revisions and tweaks, we placed an order for a premium primed flat-packed kitchen. Logistics and Delivery Experience With a kitchen extension underway, coordinating the delivery with the builders was a bit of a gamble, but it ultimately worked out. The kitchen arrived on the scheduled date, though the delivery team’s professionalism left something to be desired. Initially, they mistakenly drove to an address in London instead of the south west where we live so they were two and a half hours late and they struggled to carry the heavy kitchen boxes across our muddy building site—made more challenging by their choice of canvas trainers as footwear. Assembly and Customisation Over the following weeks, our building team’s carpenter assembled the kitchen. While it’s certainly possible to take a DIY approach, our large kitchen and the need for a few modifications to fit certain appliances made professional assembly preferable. Additionally, a few of the supplied drawer fronts were incorrect and needed resizing, and there was a communication hiccup regarding a pull-out cabinet door. Thankfully, Alan from the company kindly resolved the issue and even delivered the door personally. Painting and Finishing Touches I initially planned to have the Painted Kitchen Company’s painters finish the work, but due to a long lead time and other rising expenses, I decided to paint it myself. As someone who enjoys painting furniture and home decorating, I knew what to expect, but the size of the space proved challenging, and I was disappointed with the finish on the cabinet doors. Alan once again provided valuable advice: he recommended paint rollers from “Two Fussy Blokes,” which made a tremendous difference and left me delighted with the final result. Ongoing Maintenance One important consideration for anyone choosing a painted kitchen is the need for regular touch-ups. To make this process easier, I filled small paint pots with the appropriate colour and stored them in a kitchen cupboard. This way, it’s simple to touch up worn edges or scuffed kickboards as needed. Having taken a while to decide where to put things and then learn where to find things in our new kitchen, we are absolutely delighted with the end result.

Our experience with Painted Kitchen Company has been excellent from start to finish. Their communication was clear and consistent, ensuring everything went smoothly. The team offered fantastic design ideas that worked perfectly for our space, and the cabinetry is of superb quality. Delivery was prompt and exactly as promised, and the units were well-crafted yet easy to assemble for a capable DiYer. The pricing is extremely competitive compared to the big sheds, yet the quality and service are on another level. We're absolutely thrilled with our new kitchen and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Painted Kitchen Company to anyone looking for top-quality units at great value.

We had a fantastic experience with the Painted Kitchen Company from start to finish. Their communication was excellent, keeping us informed every step of the way. The team provided brilliant design ideas that suited our space perfectly, and the quality of the cabinetry is outstanding. Delivery was right on schedule, and the cabinets are well-made yet straightforward to assemble for a competent DIYer. The pricing is very competitive compared to the big high street retailers, offering far superior craftsmanship and service for the cost. Whenever we have guests over they all comment on how great it looks. We couldn't be happier with our new kitchen and highly recommend Painted Kitchen Company to anyone looking for high-quality units at great value.

My wife and I really enjoyed our experience with CKD. The product is great and the communication we received in terms of manufacturing updates and fitting advice was prompt and frequent. I would recommend CKD to anyone looking for an in-frame kitchen. Their product is far superior to your typical high street retailers, yet comparable on cost. Thanks again Alan at CKD!

Having recently moved into a period house one of our key requirements was to install a good quality kitchen that complimented the look and feel of our house. We looked at numerous kitchens but couldn't quite decide that they were worth pursuing as they didn't seem to be worth the money (given it was pretty much chip board from China). Having convinced my husband to miss his weekly game of rugby to attend the showroom in Bournemouth was a challenge in itself! But as soon as we walked into the showroom we knew that it was the right decision to have made. We ordered a kitchen from there later that week, they even pushed delivery through for us to receive it before Christmas. The quality of the kitchen is outstanding, we absolutely love it and get lots of compliments from friends and family. I also loved that you could pick any colour and it arrives freshly painted in the colour of your choosing. Alan was great to deal with too, he was extremely helpful and very accommodating. I'd recommend buying a kitchen from CKD they are truly one of the best kitchen companies on the market.

Absolutely delighted with both the product and service. The cabinets are superb quality and built exceptionally well. The showroom consultant, who was immensely helpful, went through an number of kitchen layout ideas with us and made suggestions as to style and finish that would complement our home. We also needed some bespoke cabinetry made which was not a problem at all. Delivery went smoothly and the cabinets look and fit superbly in our kitchen. We had looked at "off-the-shelf" kitchens by big name companies but the quality was no match compared to CKD. You obviously pay more for solid wood and hand-made but you get a premium product for your money, so it's actually much better value for money than the big high street brands. Really could not be more pleased.

I needed a new kitchen as part of a house extension, and wanted something above the usual mass market kitchen suppliers. I looked at a couple of central London showrooms, but the cost / value ratio didn't match. After some long nights searching the internet, I discovered Classic Kitchens Direct (CKD). I sent off my plans to Alan, and over a few weeks (and a showroom visit) we tweaked the design to meet my (slightly) demanding specification and budget. Throughout the process, CKD were incredibly helpful, and gave valuable suggestions along they way. I supplied my own measurements. I asked for a couple of bespoke items which they were more than happy to accommodate - another differentiator where similar competitors were not so obliging. The kitchen itself is fantastic - I genuinely could not be happier. The quality of the units and workmanship is outstanding - and the little touches I asked for have greatly enhanced the overall feel. The installation process had a couple of small issues, but these were sorted quickly and the units were installed on time and exactly as expected. We decided to go for primed, and the decorators had no issue finishing off the units with the colour / paint we wanted. All in all, I have no hesitation in recommending CKD, and have already done so to friends and family.
