Complete waste of time was all happy to communicate untill I said I can't provide a tank due to the size and being able to transport. Then all of a sudden has Completely ingored all messages since. Feel there more in it to earn some money out of people's equipment and donations then actually help animals out
Due to circumstance changes I haven't been able to give my Crested Gecko the handling, love and care she deserves. I was therefore hesitantly looking to rehome her. My vet recommended Shell-Tur, and as soon as I made contact with Charlie and Ryan I knew I was making the right decision. They are both dedicated reptile lovers, asking all of the right questions to make sure any animal they take in settles well. They welcomed me into their home to meet the other animals and made sure I was happy to entrust them with my Crested Gecko. I know now I have made the right choice and she is going to live the rest of her life with comfort, love and expert care! Thank you Charlie and Ryan for what you do. I am so glad I found out about Shell-Tur.
Dear Charlie and Ryan, I am going to take this opportunity to truly thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking care of my beloved Mississippi map turtle. I was really impressed by your reptiles 24h care setup but most importantly, I was truly touched by the amount of love and care that you both have for every single animal that is currently in your care. You both welcomed me and my Turle in such a warmth manner whilst understanding my situations and even embracing my tears. I can confidently recommend you as the number 1 reptile rescue centre in UK, as no other organisations made me feel as reassured as you guys have. I believe you are both doing an amazing job and I hope that you will continue on your rescue journey while getting all the support that you need. After nearly 30 years of having Mr Meldrew in our family I had to make a very agonising decision of finding him a loving caring home due to my personal circumstances changing where I felt I could no longer give him the companionship, love and care he had enjoyed for all those years. It took about a year of thinking long and hard about this decision and researching to find someone that understood the commitment and care tortoises need. Thatβs how I came across Charlie and Ryan and Shell-Tur Turtle & Reptile Rescue. From the first time I spoke to Charlie I could tell he completely understood my personal situation and why my choice to rehome Mr Meldrew was in the long run in the best interest for him. When I met Charlie and Ryan I could see the passion for all animals in their care literally ran through the blood in their veins. Each animal in their care are regarded as their family and they literally live and breathe love and compassion for each animal in their care. The work they do is admirable and tireless. Promoting education, protection, rescuing, rehoming and providing a safe haven for all that come through their door. I know Mr Meldrew will be loved and cared for in the same way I did and cannot thank Charlie and Ryan enough for their help and support through a heart wrenching decision for me. As I came away from leaving Mr Meldrew I knew in my heart I had found the perfect people and home for him. I could also see that Meldrew immediately seemed to accept his new family and friends. I hope they achieve their registered charity status and also get help, funding and support from larger organisations to help them fulfill their dream of expanding to larger premises. I also hope through social media they get more financial support from like minded followers as they both really deserve it. Thank you Charlie and Ryan, you really are Angels in disguise xx
Really incredible service from the team, responded super quickly and rehomed my baby tortoises efficiently, ensuring they were well taken care of straight away. The team showed great consideration to my circumstances and offered the highest standard of care throughout this process, Iβm delighted that my hatchlings are safe, happy and in the hands of experts (as evidenced by photo updates kindly shared with me). Thank you for everything that you do! Cannot recommend these guys highly enough!
After having a (what we thought) yellow-bellied slider for a number of years and fumbled around in the dark numerous times to figure out how to look after Ted, we thought it would be best to find a sanctuary that could care for Ted in the way she deserved. We came across Shell-Tur and had the pleasure of meeting Ryan and Charlie. They are unbelievably knowledgeable when it comes to what they do and have shown amazing compassion for Ted. We loved being able to look around and see how all the other turtles/animals are looked after and they really made us feel welcome. All we can say is a massive thank you for being so selfless and taking Ted on. I am sure she will have the happiest life with you and hopefully she can give you many happy times. She seemed to enjoy the cuddles and kisses within minutes of being in your care. Thank you for everything.
We unfortunately had to re-home our musk Turtle and after research found Ryan and Charles. The loveliest people we have ever met, so accommodating and fantastic with our daughter letting her meet all the animals. So passionate and knowledgable about what they do. I couldn't recommend them enough and would love to help and support them in the future. Thank you so much.
Absolutely brilliant experience meeting Ryan and Charlie. I unfortunately had to contact them about rehoming my two musk turtles. Even with such short notice they were completely understanding and accommodating. It was a pleasure meeting them and the work they are doing to help people and reptiles is incredible. The enthusiasm they show is not something you see anywhere else. Great job
Wow! What can I say?! My Mum, her boyfriend and I, had the absolute pleasure of visiting today and we were really impressed at the level of care that both Ryan and Charlie give to all of the animals - it is quite clear to see that they go above and beyond for them!-. Although it was sad to say goodbye to our turtles, we knew that they would be very well looked after, have a better quality of life (and loved) at Shell-Tur turtle and reptile sanctuary. Cannot thank the guys enough! x
