I have only just got round to reviewing from my trip in late September this year...whoops! I booked a taxis to Shrewsbury one way with them. The driver turned up on time. Was an excellent smooth driver, which made the journey Oh so much better. I was very impressed all in all and should I need a long journey cab won't hesitate to use them again
I honestly can’t fault them. I used Skyline twice on Saturday and both rides were spot on. The app worked perfectly, the drivers arrived quickly and had no issues finding us. Prices are very reasonable compared to other taxi companies too. Skyline will definitely be my go-to from now on.
Very poor attitude from the driver who picked me up from the car garage today - the garage called them as my phone had died and so I would pay card. As we approached my destination the driver asked how I would pay and I said card and he said he sent me a text, I said my phone was dead and he stated that they no longer carry card machines in the car. I said alright let me pop in and quickly put my phone on charge for a minute as I have a fast charger and he started sighing and shaking his head stating it was a busy time - as if that meant anything? From there he acted extremely annoyed. Mind you he waited no less than 1 actual minute as my phone charged immediately then I switched it to my power bank to come outside because I had received no text since he sent it to the car garage. I had to give him my phone number and he acted as if it was a massive inconvenience. Mind you, when the garage called them they said it was for a customer. I then paid and he drove off and I was almost inclined to tell him to calm down. It was barely a 6 minute drive to my place and by the time I had paid, it hadn’t even been 10 minutes since I was picked up. I was picked up by 13:44 and got home by about 13:50. He was so impatient that he didn’t even wait until he got the notification that he received the payment, just asked if it was done on my end then sped off. The fella was gone by 13:53. Really odd behaviour I wonder what he would’ve been like if we had hit a bit of traffic! Definitely some miscommunication on skyline’s end as they were informed it was for a garage customer and I wonder why they stopped having card machines in the car. All in all a very weird experience.
USE ANYONE ELSE IF POSSIBLE. BOLT APPARENTLY MUCH BETTER PRICES. MK CONNECT before 11pm brilliant prices apparently Prices are through the roof. Their app is misleading as it doesn't display anywhere near the correct pricing. Be very very very careful as you then get charged a cancellation fee. I believe that any taxi company should be making the passenger aware of the increased price, this is NOT happening. From £8 to £18 December and then charged cancellation as well. From £8 to £15 last night. A 3 mile journey! Taxis drivers refusing jobs as not worth their while. Therefore skyline doesn't display to drivers where you are being asked to be dropped. Greedy!
What’s the point of booking a taxi in advance if they don’t turn up on time? Booked a taxi for 18:50 and it was even dispatched until 18:56. I thought I would try Skyline again after a number of years thinking that their management team would have learnt from the vast number of 1-star reviews but I guess they have not. Definitely won’t be booking again. To top it all off, I just called at 19:05 to find out where the taxi is and the man on the phone was not only unhelpful but yawned!
Very dodgy driver, falsely claimed a young person had been sick in the cab and tried to claim a £70 clean up payment. Also claimed the fare payment hadn't gone through when it had. Completely untrue. Just trying it on with inebriated young people late at night. Highly unethical. Worrying to think what other behaviour might be tried. When the issue was raised with Skyline there was little to no response, 'logged' a ticket. Will never use this company again.
I booked a cab from the theatre last night and was told it was going to be 5/10 minute wait. I called them multiple times over AN HOUR period as I was still waiting!!! I explained on these calls that it was dark and I was a woman waiting on my own and with everything going on in MK - I didn't feel safe! I wasn't expecting any special treatment but just my taxi that I kept being told was 'a few minutes away'. I was also given two different taxi details, one on my text and then another on the link to trace my taxi. When I questioned them about this on one of my calls (for practical and safety reasons surely I need to know the right details of the taxi that I am looking out for?!), the taxi changed yet again! So 3 times in total! I called the firm after ONE hour and I admit I lost my patience! I think anybody would feel the same - especially as I felt vulnerable and just wanted to get home! I ended up calling Royal Cabs who came promptly and so I was able to get home - finally! My partner thinks that higher fares must of come in and so I kept being shelved by Skyline! I would NEVER EVER recommend this taxi firm and I will NEVER use them again and nor will my family! **If I had the option, it would definitely be zero stars.**
Was driven "home" this morning by this man from pinks. He tried to charge an extra 5 for me to get out of the car, en route to my friends destination. When challenged, he was very aggressive, loud and demanded payment upfront, mid drive. Did not feel safe in his car, he took a wrong turn, and made prices up as he went. Contacted skyline, didn't care, advised I went to police.
