Had a lovely Christmas meal here last week. The food was piping hot with succulent meat and lovely fresh (real) sprouts and carrots. Although very busy, the staff were very efficient and helpful too. Very reasonable price as well.

Came for a conference, staff so friendly and welcoming. Can’t do enough to help you. It’s an old quirky building so don’t expect square rooms but everywhere is immaculately clean and well decorated. Everything you need at a very affordable price.

Booked last minute due to travel arrangement changes. Review based as a 2 star hotel. Everything was clean, warm welcome from reception. Room was spotless, double bed, a little soft mattress for us but that's our preference. Good working shower, plenty of hot water. Nice and quiet area. Breakfast was good. Friendly staff.. Can't fault anything about our stay. Worth having a look if you're looking for a nice quiet hotel in Aberdeenshire.

Didn't have a room. Attended a function in the attached building. Strange set up being cash only for drinks. Bar was limited. Staff still learning ropes, but friendly enough. Food served looked very good although didn't have any as wasn't hungry.

Went here for Sunday high tea and it was excellent! Unlimited tea and coffee and a great selection of food and cakes. The service was very good with very welcoming and helpful staff.

Lovely Hotel ran by a mother and son, very clean throughout, the rooms were large and spacious with large shower rooms. Meals were really good with a good choice menu. Very friendly and approachable staff . Will definitely visit again

Lovely old building built as a hotel in 1891. Check-in was quick and easy and the staff were friendly and accommodating. My room had a comfy double bed, en-suite toilet with a shower but a tiled floor. It was cold on the feet so wear slippers. The shower was hot and powerful enough for my needs. I did not see a lift, if one is required I would suggest contacting the hotel for confirmation. Dining can be in the Arches restaurant or in the bar area. The meals were tasty and filling. I was staying with work colleagues and we dined together. Unfortunately, as has been mentioned in other reviews, we were given one dish of vegetables between three of us. Apart from that I have no complaints about the evening meals. Breakfast was in a separate room and again was very good, especially the porridge which was excellent. I would certainly stay here again.

Food was nice, poor selection of coffees and kitchen was closed by 8:45 so kids couldn't get a scoop of ice cream. Seemed a bit early for a Friday night. Edit. 22/10/22 Back again last night for a birthday meal. Food was good 9/10 Service was poor 4/10 The 2 girls did their best but having to cover 2 separate dining areas (1 upstairs and other downstairs) neither of which were busy is crazy. Need more staff if they are going to continue both rooms. On the back of last nights visit we have booked to go to the Legion for Xmas Lunch instead. Management need to do better.

Had a nice 6 night stay while we travelled around Aberdeenshire. The room was huge & everywhere was lovely & clean. The staff were friendly & the breakfast & the food in the restaurant was delicious. Added bonus was plenty of parking.
