Awful company. Don't stick to the prices quoted in the app, which are already more expensive than others in Buckingham, and cancel at short notice with no reason given. There are much more reliable taxi firms in the area
Charged £20 for a 1.6 mile journey before midnight, absolutely disgusting, its no wondered young girls risk lives by walking home when taxi companies like this are charging such ridiculous prices, completely unprofessional behavior from driver who spent the journey on a call on loud speaker for all to hear! Avoid at all cost!!
Dishonest pricing. App showed £19.50 but they pre-authorised and charged £28. Then said they phoned me and I didn’t answer to give me the updated pricing but I had no calls except the one telling me the taxi was outside
Dishonest, booked a cab via their app specifying the exact journey details and time based on their estimate of £47 for the journey, they pre-auth a higher value, about £57 in this instance in case the journey exceeds the estimate, fair enough. Then the evening before I get a call saying the revised estimate is £70 so an increase of almost 50% no valid reason given. Have no idea if I accepted if the actual journey could have been another 50% more again. Whether they are less deceitful if booking via telephone I can't say but definitely don't trust the app and I would suggest they are avoided entirely if you're able
Terrible service from beginning to end. Had to prepay for a booking and the price was double what I expect for a 3 Mile journey. Booked a cab for 12.30 in the morning, fully appreciated they can be busy at this time, but waited 45 minutes (we were lucky enough to get a lift from one of the other guests ) so I cancelled the cab (I had been told that it was on it way at 12.15!) 2 weeks later and still no refund or contract from the company. Just a rip off...
Booked for a 0500 pick up to the airport. Driver turns up 10 mins late. I watch him on the tracker try to get fuel even though he's already late. When in the car he says he needs to get fuel, best in mind we are already late at this point. I tell him the fuel stations are closed, he doesn't listen and still tries to get fuel. Heading through Aylesbury toland has to stop to get fuel which just delays the journey even more. Drover friendly and apologetic but no planning and doesn't help me. Pre plan, its simple.
Wanted payment up front, they charge double other local taxis because they are not based locally. I had to cancel cab, said they would refund , it took me 7 weeks and many calls to get them to finally pay me back
I booked using the app and it quoted an estimated £9-12 for the journey, and when the booking was confirmed and the driver was dispatched it confirmed a price of £10.10 (fair for a 9 minute trip on a Sunday afternoon). Upon arrival the driver wouldn’t let me get out until I had paid £20, and even when I rang the office they said it would be that price and that I would have to pay - I paid up for fear of what could happen if I didn’t. In addition the driver tried to give me his personal number so he could pick me up for my return journey - I don’t doubt this would have been off the books and dodgy. I chose to use a different company to get back and I won’t be touching this lot with a barge pole ever again. Avoid them.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Worst service I've ever experienced. Used to travel to and from a wedding in Buckingham. 20 minutes late to collect us so nearly missed the wedding ceremony - no explanation or heads up. Return journey - TOOK OVER AN HOUR TO PICK US UP AND WE SUSPECT DRIVER WAS DRUNK. Capitalised this statement so no one misses it. The driver was swerving across the road, driving 20mph on a 60 road, nodding off, veering around and slurring his words. Paid for two stops and whole group had to get out at the first drop, meaning some people weren't able to return to the hotel they'd paid for, out of fear for their lives. Have now called three times to speak to a manager, who seems perpetually unavailable. Absolutely shocking and feel compelled to write this review. Royal Cabs is a total sham and frankly, should not be operating. I regret not reading the Trip Advisor reviews which paint a painfully accurate picture of what the general experience of Royal Cabs is. To be honest, I would've preferred a 'royal' experience with Prince Andrew. Disgraceful
