Although the front desk staff were very friendly, this does not change the fact that their mistake caused me to lose over £300, and they refused to compensate me for my loss.
So it’s my official day one at Brunswick Apartments, and it’s honestly better than I had imagined. I don’t even feel like referring to the staff as ‘staff’, because they genuinely feel like my new friends. I was a bit scared on moving, as this is my first time moving to a new country, and as well as, living all alone by myself. But everyone here has been so welcoming, I’m not nervous even one bit! The room I was offered was exactly how it was in the pictures, but I still wanted something with a different layout. I asked Dan if he could find me something else in the same price range, and he pulled through and I was offered a new room of my liking in the next 4-5 hours. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and the view is also amazing (I’ve attached the pictures). Dan, Mary, Mandy and Mike have been the sweetest. And Lee (who according to my brief knowledge is in charge of repair works), was right at my doorstep when I told him a drawer wasn’t opening the way it should have been. I know this looks like a paid review (I probably should get paid for this haha), but it’s not. I urge you to physically visit here once before making your final decision, and you’ll believe me. Excited to avail of all the other facilities once I’m done with my quarantine (like the gym, common room, games room, etc)! P.S. They’ve also been so accommodating with the payment process because of the pandemic, that I wasn’t charged a single pound despite of postponing my accommodation for 4 times. No, really... what more do you need?
Highly recommend to everyone finding a nice accommodation in Southampton. my room is so beautiful and it provides everything I need. Besides, not only wonderful facility here, but also the staff team. They are not only kind and friendly, but also very helpful. Whenever I ask them for help, they all are always willing to give their hands as soon as they can. I cant thank you enough for that. Thanks Dan, for always helping me with the agreement stuff. Thanks Mandy for always giving me a nice suggestion. Thanks Mary for making this place feel like home. Thanks Lee for always helping me fix things (and he always makes it!). Thanks Daniel, Stuart and Michael for making me feel relief whenever I have to come back late or need something at night or during the weekends. I really love the staff and this place so much.
Really great halls much better then some of the other private rented halls in the city center, especially with Dan and the team keeping the place running smoothly. Definitely would recommend, out of a lockdown and a global crisis there are many great facilities on site such as the Cinema, Gym, study rooms, and games rooms. I would also definitely recommend the option where you share a kitchen with 2 other rooms as this means you get alot more space and also get to make new friends very quickly. Everyone here is really kind and social. Also there are numerous events throughout the year for, Halloween, Christmas, Chinese New Year, and more.
I moved in during the midst of the Covid Pandemic when there are factors like social distancing, hygiene and public health safety to consider. Despite these challenges, the employees at 11 Brunswick Place, Southampton could not have been more accommodating and welcoming at such a stressful time. The arrival process was smooth from start to finish where Mandy, the manager, thought about every detail from how to lift all of my appliances and clothes in only one trip up to the seventh floor. She showed me around all the communal aspects of the accommodation, including essential places like the laundry and bin rooms. There is also a secure place to store your bike if you do decide to get about this way as a student. What I found most helpful was the mental wellbeing support I was shown from Mandy and the rest of the employees including the maintenance team. Having come from the furthest reaches of the North East of Scotland to the Southern depths of England, I was so glad to know there was someone I could talk to and share my anxieties about this change with. I went for the silver studio on a short term let and the people running the application process in Glasgow, on the phone, were also very accommodating given my last minute decision to move into my own space for the start of my course in early January. The studio itself is peaceful, cosy, easy to get around; the shower is hot and has a good pressure system (perfect for long days in my chair on virtual meetings), the cooking appliances work well with easy to operate switches, the cupboards are an ample size with plenty of room for food, cleaning storage etc., the beds have storage inside them which is also innovative for storing large amounts of luggage as a student. If you are a postgraduate student looking for somewhere to live in Southampton which is hassle free and covers all areas e.g. all inclusive, then Hello Student is the place to look. My experience has been great. Very friendly staff, really quick to respond to any concerns or issues. The rooms and kitchen are also well equipped with all you need. My favourite part of my room is my work/study area (though they also have study rooms available). There's also a small gym that is equipped with only the necessities (but that's good enough for me)
A very impressive accommodation for my degree. Good location and amazing view, well equipped kitchen and bathroom and near the bus stop and central of Southampton are the advantages for those who will study here.
