Went to this college for 3 years and all years were just as dysfunctional as the others, teachers don't know what they are teaching and they seem to allow a bunch of horrible people to "learn" here

Ok so I was a college student here doing IT for 1 year back in 2024, my "second" year I was forced to be in a gap year (mind you it wasn't really fun) after unable to secure a place in the college while applying for Hair & Beauty. Now it is 2025, I have emailed them asking whether if I would be confirmed a spot and whether I would be accepted or not but completely avoided my question. I even emailed them few days ago asking "When we get our email confirmation, would it be at the end of August" yet didn't answer my question and gave out a random response which I didn't ask for. I'm hoping I get accepted into this college for 2025 where I originally meant to do my second year back in 2024 after completing IT and the "waiting list" is absolutely nonsense as I couldn't secure a place. Regardless I cannot tell why they would not accept me but I am interested in Hair & Beauty Edit: I did NOT get a place here and they did NOT give me a reason why I wasn't able to be enrolled

I was at the college from 1989 to 1991, as a mature student, at first suffering massive culture shock - but honestly these years turned out to be just phenomenal. They were incredible due completely to the standard of lecturers, imparting the most amazing and relevant knowledge. I always look back at these years, and smile. A good choice if you are considering the move to here.

Absolutely furious with Farnborough College of Technology attitude towards applicants with learning needs. They say two weeks after interviewing they’ll be offered a conditional place, a nonconditional place or be unsuccessful. FEBRUARY my child had their interview. Multiple phonecalls over the moths and told “yes your child has a place on the course, we just can’t send the official offer until the ECHP is signed off” Two weeks ago we were told “next week you’ll get the offer email” The week after “next week”. It’s now INDUCTION WEEK and we still have NOTHING. Watching all the other kids getting excited for their induction day and asked “when’s yours?” Is absolutely heartbreaking! Baring in mind my child needs minimal ‘adjustments’ she has dyslexia and a neurological condition which is very well managed. Child has applied for a course which doesn’t require grades AND even if they hadn’t - why no conditional offer? Has anyone else had this experience with FCOT? Are they seriously this discriminatory towards those with extra needs? It’s 2025 for goodness sake!

Really don't send you young daughters to the college. The head of the college has been caught on a number of occasions taking pictures of the students. Whilst not all the staff are responsible for this those in charge were keen to brush this under the table. On top of they will try and silence you when you do complain by providing a written warning. The guys a bully and needs to be reported to the relevant authorities.

Teachers treat those with special needs the way fernhill would. My friend is visually impaired and the teacher refused to make the text bigger for her and refuses to support. Despite my targets, a number of teachers force me to focus when I have have 'ADHD' which is like telling a paralysed person to move.

Go somewhere else. Students and staff are being manipulated. The wrong people in the right place. Because of this there is no integrity. Very dishonest college. Unqualified staff in some subject areas. Very disappointed with this college. Such a shame. Some of the staff look physically depressed and look unhappy. Go at your own risk.

My son attended the college last year on a 2 year engineering course. We found the course to be lacking, especially the leadership and communication from the college. Over the course of the year teachers were often absent and he had 6 tutors. The syllabus looked fantastic but the college didn't deliver. He is now pursuing a different course at a new college.

This College doesn't even deserve 1 star. It is a bad experience. They are very disorganized too. Our timetables merged and they still haven't given us the new timetable. What's so hard about sending a file to Microsoft Teams will always make me question how lazy the teachers are. Apparently we were told what time but there was no announcement and nothing on Teams so I ended up losing some of my attendance by this disorganized mess of what you call a college. Not doing a Level 3 Business course because I'm not going through this again for another 2 years.
