One of the most unhelpful, uninterested clinics I’ve ever had the displeasure of being treated by. I was blatantly lied to and told there was no way I could receive a medication that had been previously prescribed privately. This medication is very much available through the NHS and I tried to find a middle ground and ask for a consultation, so that I can at least be assessed for it, but I was interrupted mid sentence each time, told it’s not clinical policy, was not given time to justify myself and then hung up on. I understand that running a clinic is difficult especially in these times, but that interaction was utterly ridiculous and now I am forced to continue paying for private treatment (which I need to maintain quality of life!) when I very easily could have gotten it for free through the NHS.

The “care navigation” team are absolutely useless. You have to wait over an hour only for them to try disregard you. It genuinely feels like they want to avoid helping you. Last time i called they said they would email me a form to fill out that will come in a couple days. Its been 2 weeks and i’ve heard nothing. This morning i went in because ive injured my arm and cant move it. What i was told at the desk was to call the “care” navigation team. I seriously recommend going anywhere else.

Would rather give zero stars. My wife has tried for 4 days to get through but constantly gets cut off as they clearly have their capacity for the morning/afternoon. Also had a "physio" appointment few months back which was a complete waste of time as the person never even laid hands on me. Ended up paying for private treatment. Prior to covid this surgery would have got a 5 star rating, appointments available next day, doctors caring and listened even though maybe struggling for time. High time things were sorted.

Only leaving a one star review because it is not possible to leave zero stars. Nurses are great if you are able to get through the "care navigation team" to see one. Care navigation team will do everything in their power to dissuade you from being able to do so. I am not convinced there is actually a GP available to see here - please convince me otherwise. This was a great surgery before Newburn took over - now patients are stripped of support and the ability to ever see a medical professional. If they can fob you off they will. If they can undermine you or convince you to not bother they will. I requested a repeat prescription from the GP for a medication I was advised to take by a doctor elsewhere, when requested I was told to arrange a clinician call to review this, clinicians were not available to have this discussion for TWO WEEKS, I was then advised to call the care navigation team who queried why I was being prescribed this medication in the first place despite being instructed to by a doctor, told me to go and source it by myself. All in all a stressful, unnecessary and undermining experience which has me questioning what Newburn are doing for the public and in what ways they are failing vulnerable people AVOID

Receptionist was so lovely and kind to my daughter whom is dyslexic. Due to this she can ask a lot of questions to try understand better, Chelsea (I think her name is!) helped her understand everything so well, she went above and beyond, answered all her questions with a smile on her face. She didn’t feel rushed or that she was annoying the receptionist with all her talking, which can happen a lot, so this really made me so happy to hear. Thank you Chelsea. God bless you.

The reliance on e-consults makes it practically impossible to access health care here! It feels like they want you to find help from literally anywhere else other than the practic, a complete waste of time trying to phone to get help as they just tell you to wait for e-consults to become active again! For somebody that works, and works really weird hours, it has been a nightmare trying to see a doctor for any kind of help. I feel very sorry for anybody who does not have Internet access as I'm sure it's more of a nightmare for them, I personally would find elsewhere to go.

Since I got pregnant I received excellent care. My midwife and all the staff members have been really kind and supportive. I got all my appointments in time and received good care. Thank you.

It is an utter disgrace! Especially since it went to tender and has been privatised. It used to be a good practice with supportive GP's, not anymore! I have witnessed first hand how it used to be and how much it has gone downhill. There is no patient care. We are all just numbers. The reception staff are rude, lack any sympathy, humanity, compassion and are so unhelpful. I was spoken to in such a horrible manner, was mocked and was even lied to by staff members. They make so many mistakes with medication, their sheer incompetence is shocking. I have also been denied medication that my consultant prescribed for me by a nurse practitioner ("M") at the practice who thinks he has the authority to over-ride a consultant! I didn't even get an answer as to why they are refusing to prescribe a medication that an expert will.... There are no GP's to see or speak too or nurses (except this one in particular "M", who btw is meant to be helping people with their mental health, which is most definitely not happening), and you are expected to do your own blood pressure in the waiting area behind an old fashioned curtain. I witnessed this and a receptionist tell this student doing her BP, that it was "high" all in public hearing/view! I was told to make a nurse appointment in advance, which I did, to get stitches removed, reception told me they don't have anyone available and I would have to do it myself. It is a travesty! I have left.

Possibly the worst receptionist I’ve ever dealt with, can’t wait to get you off the phone, is rude, condescending and obviously has no passion for her work. She should not be in the job. Has no interest in helping the public and she must thoroughly enjoys throwing up roadblocks between public and GP. A farce that she is in this position and I would urge the practice to put her under review immediately.

Moved into the area a few months ago. Compared to my previous GP Practice, this is a huge step down. I struggle to get a meeting to review my medication for a long-term medical condition. (We are already running a month late, and another month of delay is a certainty now.) Receptionists are evasive when discussing any of these issues with me. And I could not arrange even a phone call with the relevant practice nurse. (I no longer even hope that it would be possible to communicate with a doctor. That is just a dream now.) This is the worst I have experienced with the NHS. Zero stars would be the appropriate grade but Google reviews does not offer that option.
