Hannah Hope and Sarah Hibberd were exceptional in how they handled my case and their knowledge and support was so reassuring throughout. There was nothing I couldn’t ask them about and they kept me updated and informed regularly which gave me such peace of mind. I can’t recommend them enough.

   Buying/Selling property is stressful enough. Penningtons made my experience almost unbearable. It almost fell apart due to untimely communication and no attention to detail or urgency. No apology - not important that these are people's lives.

   Pennington’s acted for the vendor in our house purchase, one which should have been a very simple and straightforward process given both sides were end of chain. Even with some complications that arose, these could have been dealt with in a timely manner but this wasn’t the case. Graham Philips in particular was very unprofessional, at times he was rude to our sales progressor and for some reason seemed to deliberately be obstructive by holding up very simple things, or worse would delay the process by getting things wrong entirely. These problems were exacerbated on our end even further by us having a very time sensitive situation with our rental property and unfortunately there appeared to be a complete lack of sympathy or awareness from their side, who seemed to enjoy keeping us in the dark constantly. Because of this I would not recommend them, or Graham, at all.

   These solicitors were acting for the other side, we did not use their services personally. However, our experience was negative & we can completely relate to the other negative reviews on here. Their practices were consistently slow & held proceedings up the whole way. They sent incomplete documents with just a name & address - then took over a week to fill it out properly. Would not respond to our solicitor on numerous occasions! I had to make complaints to get any responses. All we wanted was for things to be done well & in a timely matter, we felt like we didn’t even get this. A lack of effort from start to finish!

   I cannot recommend this law firm enough. A brief outline of my situation, I’ve lived in Japan for the last 25 years and my mother, a UK national, passed away in Spain. I had some intestate issues with my brother concerning my mother’s estate and documentation. I’ve never been into law or lawyers. However the only remedy available to me was the law, 10,000 km away in Asia. I sent off a number of letters of enquiries to a number of law firms in the UK. Mr. Cash of Penningtons promptly replied to my enquiry with a detailed letter of my available options and Ms. Ball of Penningtons later dealt with my case with the sensitivity that I wished.    I've only experienced them as the other side's solicitor when buying a house. But they are so slow at getting things done in my experience. There also seems to be confusion when one person is out of the office and the communication has been horrendous in my opinion.

I also dealt with Emma Mccarthy - also amazing at her job, both worked hard to help me out, really went out of their way.
