This was a long, complex leasehold purchase with multiple moving parts, delays outside anyoneβs control, and several stressful moments along the way. Throughout all of it, Nicky was calm, thorough, and consistently on top of the detail. She explained things clearly, flagged risks early, and handled some very tricky negotiations and last-minute issues with professionalism and reassurance. What really stood out was the human side β Nicky (and her assistant Lucy) were incredibly patient with my many questions and calls, always approachable, and genuinely supportive when things felt overwhelming. That made a huge difference during a process that could easily have gone the other way. If you want a conveyancer who is diligent, communicative, and genuinely has your back, I wouldnβt hesitate to recommend Nicky and the team at Harrisonβs.

We were recommended Harrisons Solicitors by friends and used Nicky for our house purchase. She was very responsive and made the whole process smooth. Even with a seller chain, everything was completed in just over two months. Iβll definitely recommend Nicky to others. Thank you!

Having heard how stressful the house-buying process in the UK can be, I was initially quite worried about how things would go. However, Nicky made the entire experience completely stress-free for me. Her clear communication, prompt responses, and constant reassurance throughout the process made a huge difference. While there were some delays from other parties, such as myself or the seller, Nicky was always efficient and on top of everything. Iβm really happy with how smoothly the process went and would wholeheartedly recommend Harrisons Solicitors, especially Nicky to anyone looking to buy or sell a property in the UK.

David and the team at the Caversham office handled conveyancing for our house purchase. Even though it was comparatively straightforward (no chain etc) everything was completed with little/no fuss. Anytime we needed to query something the response was swift. The cost was also competitive, and there were no unexpected extras along the way. Would certainly recommend Harrisons to anyone buying/selling a house.

David is an extremely friendly and efficiant communicator. He ensured our house move went through without a blip and was very helpful with general advice about purchasing a property (it was our first time). Would definitely recommend to first time buyers!

Where to start. 1) Lost our mortgage offer and decided not to say anything to us. Instead just sitting around for weeks. We only found out it was lost through the developers solicitors. We, our developers and our mortgage broker had to spoon feed them to get things moving. 2) Tried to charge us extra because their forms were incorrect. Finally conceding they were at fault and dropping the charge. 3) Refused to follow our instructions and made decisions based on what they wanted, not what we wanted. 4) Tried to gaslight us on promises they had made, until we showed them their own emails and they were forced to backtrack (but with no apology). 5) Emails were always hastily written, and containing atrocious spelling and grammar. We had to clarify one email three separate times before they sat down and corrected their English so we could understand it. Not what we expect from educated solicitors. 6) They were rude and abrasive on the phone, doing their best to avoid talking to us entirely. 7) They took every opportunity to fleece us for more money, despite atrocious service on the things we were already paying for. 8) We settled the final statement, only for them to reveal they had made an error and wanted more money from us. Yet another example of incompetence. 9) Documents were badly written, and lazily slapped together. We always had to get them to correct basic errors, such as names or figures. 10) They copied and pasted information but didn't filter it for relevance, so we ended up looking for documents they told us they had sent (because they copied an pasted an email from another client which said they sent it) but which we didn't actually need. 11) They used vague terms such as "probably" when they should be crystal clear on where we stood legally, not running around in the vague hope what they have said is correct. 12) They failed to even tell us the house had gone through, it was only the proactive actions of the developer that let us know we could even move in. At one point we even checked the credentials of a senior partner because we were convinced they were unqualified due to the basic errors. We feel like we did most of the work, they were too lazy to do anything properly, and that they viewed us a cash cow only. We hoped the negative reviews were exaggerations, but we were absolutely horrified by their service by the end. In fact, we now believe their responses to negative comments on here are just filled with fabricated excuses, designed to seed doubt. I mean, "phones lines were playing up" when one of your employees is caught whispering obscenities while on phone? As an excuse that's beyond ridiculous. As is blaming developers or estate agents for your own staff being rude and disinterested (note that it's the same name that is complained about). Avoid like the plague. Go elsewhere to get a professional, competent service.
