   I booked and prepaid a Heathrow airport transfer with Alpha Cars (£70). At the end of the journey, the driver demanded an additional £40 in cash for alleged waiting time and parking fees that were never disclosed at booking. Despite providing full flight details in advance (so delays and immigration time could be monitored), the driver became aggressive when we questioned the charge. He refused to release our luggage, threatened to take us to their station against our will, and ignored repeated requests to stop the car. We felt unsafe and intimidated and were forced to pay the cash under duress to recover our belongings. The driver then behaved in a physically threatening manner. This was a frightening experience and a complete failure of customer care and passenger safety. What makes it worse is that the company never replied to my formal writen complaint, despite the seriousness of the incident. I strongly advise avoiding this company. No customer should ever be put in this situation.

   My 18-year-old daughter pre-booked and paid for a taxi to collect her at 5.45pm this morning so she could get to work for a 6pm start. When the taxi hadn’t arrived by 5.55pm, she contacted the company, only to be told they were unable to provide an ETA. There was also no assigned driver showing on the app at any point. By 6.15pm, with no sign of the taxi and no useful communication, she was forced to cancel and walk the three miles to Bartons Mill in order to get to work. This caused her unnecessary stress and resulted in her being over an hour late for her shift. Unfortunately, the feedback we’ve since seen on social media mirrors this experience, suggesting this is not an isolated incident. Very disappointing service, particularly given the booking was pre-arranged and paid for in advance. Refund required!

   This company an absolute rip off. Was charged £14.00 for a journey not even a mile. Driver was rude and company put phone down after we disputed charges. They charge from where they are based in Basingstoke and not pick up point. Ask for costs before . Reply to my complaint was that £12.50 charge was for the taxi driver's cost to reach out destination and £1.50 was cost of our actual journey!!!! I live in London and even black cabs do not charge this amount. Uber charged £6 for our return journey which is reasonable. I would advice people to ask for price before booking. Driver told us not to call his company again and yet they sent another driver to pick us up but we had already left so wasted journey for them. Maybe now they can understand how we felt. Disappointed

   Usually book via the app and found that the app no longer works on iOS. I would call the office, but honestly the wait is so much longer so I won’t bother, I’ll get the bus. Zero communication about this issue either. They still advise on their website to download an app that no longer exists on the Apple App Store.

   Booked a taxi for 9pm. Had a text confirming this. I rang at 9.15 asking where the taxi was, lady very abrupt on the phone as if it was my fault the driver was late and said it would be the next one dispatched.....how about a courtesy call? No communication saying they would be late. Driver eventually arrived, I went to the window and told him my name and and all I got was "You in back!" and that was it! Got home and he didn't have any signal to accept card payments.....which I was told would be fine as I had no cash. So had to ask someone at home for the cash. If you can't arrive at the time specified, if you are that busy, don't take the booking. Seems I'm not the only one.....

   I have been using alpha cars for many years, however in my last two experiences this company seems to be going downhill. First booked a cab for airport drop and cab was late by about 3 mins and I was late to get in car by 5 mins from my end, though i waved cab driver. In that duration, I got 3 calls from head office of the car, saying am late and I had to pay 20 mins waiting charge. Second time, I asked for airport pickup. Cab driver charged me for waiting from the time plane landed till I was out. Who on earth can expect to get in cab very minute plane lands? Alpha cars, you have lost a loyal customer!

   I will not use this taxi company ever again. They cannot be relied on. Everytime I have booked a taxi it is always late without fail. Fifteen minutes late or half hour late. Not funny if you have to be somewhere on time. Have also been charged different prices for the same journey, not acceptable. When I have called to book a taxi the person on the other end of the phone who is male needs training on customer service he comes across as unhelpful and miserable as though he would rather be somewhere else. This taxi firm use to be one of the best a few years ago. They are not anymore I will not be using them again and I do not recommend

   I use these guys for airport runs about 6-10 times a month and they never disappoint. Even when traffic is bad they try to get us to Heathrow on time. Even 3am pick ups is no problem. Fab
