Me and my husband had a Private Refresher & ICC Weekend course with Universal Yachting. We are very satisfied how it went and would highly recommend Universal Yachting! Before the weekend we got very friendly and helpful service as well as fast reply and on the weekend everything was as agreed. We enjoyed it a lot and Brian Parnell was a very good instructor. “5 day Competent Crew” was amazing! Great yacht, great instructions, great price. Very small size group. Cover much much more than the course did required. If you are thinking about taking RYA courses, Universal Sailing is highly recommended school! Outstanding experience!
Great, clean yacht, good crewing from the other students and most importantly a fantastic instructor. We had a superb range of conditions including F7 on day 1! The yacht behaved perfectly and we all learnt loads from our brilliant instructor who had a real knack of getting the best out of us all. Would recommend Universal to anyone. Thanks to all the team who made the whole experience a total pleasure.
A fantastic experience with Universal Yachting! We went on a two day/weekend course to brush up on skills before a European flotilla holiday. Universal were professional from start to finish. The website was very informative and email enquiries were responded to promptly. The boat was in pristine condition and provisioned ready for the weekend when we arrived. Brian, our skipper, was extremely professional and keen to know what we wanted to gain from the weekend. He covered everything in detail, explaining manoeuvres etc. clearly. I would absolutely recommend Universal! Thank you.
I can definitely say that whether you are looking to start sailing, get ready for a Yacht Master, or just Charter a Yacht for the weekend you need look no further than Universal. What makes them different to other Sailing Schools is there attention to detail. The boats are kept in stunning condition so you feel right from the off that your experience is going to be like the yachts, well presented! Run buy a husband and wife team Chris & Mel, who have spent the majority of their working life's in this business, they combine their knowledge and expertise where others fail. If you have had a bad experience sailing with people you know, or just wish to gain experience, you wont be disappointed with this company highly recommended!
I completed my Day Skippers course this summer with Universal and in every way they exceeded my expectations. Mel made the booking process incredibly easy and even responded back to my multiple questions and emails late into the evening (I live in the US so am 5 hours behind). When I arrived the boat was immaculate and our instructor Clive was superb, we had strong winds all week and conditions that I would certainly have not even considered going out in before the course, but Clive's training and knowledge was second to none. I learned a huge amount and had fun doing it. As a single customer given the option to book my own cabin for a small amount more was key, even though the whole crew bonded amazingly well. Thanks again Universal I'll be back next year.
