We were herded into a lift. It went up. Doors opened and none of us knew what to do. Eventually one of us walked to a set of doors and pressed a bell. A "nurse" came and led one patient away...... eventually "the system" clicked in and I was led to what I now know was a pod. My husband and I were totally confused. I had a carrier bag of medication and suitcase, I thought I was going to a room to unpack and disrobe, not a pod where you could hear all that was being discussed. None of this experience was explained at pre-assessment, physio school and so I was not prepared and overly over-packed for this scenario. Eventually, although the nurse said I would be wheeled to theatre on the bed/trolley I was in fact instructed to walk. Once in pre-theatre room I was instructed to clamber onto a bed/trolley. Then it was decided theater wasn't ready and so I walked, alone, to my pod where my husband had left. 5 minutes later I walked once more to pre-theater room. Remember I had severe osteoarthritis of the left hip!! If I have to tell you what you could do better after reading this than there is no hope. Communicate, explain, forewarn and be aware of patients condition and capabilities!!

This is the 2nd time that I have been an in patient at this hospital. Second time it was my choice to return based on the exceptional experience the first time. This matched my expectations. I was moved to a different room on the 2nd day, although not ideal, disruption was minimised. The following people were exceptional: Mr Tom Pollard, Dr Clare Skinner, Dr Adah, Angela, Marissa, Sharon, Sandy, Una, Ben and Chris (nurses). Plus the physio team and the nurses and staff who work in outpatients. No one wants to be in a hospital if they can avoid, but if there is the need then this hospital is excellent. Catering team are deserving of a special mention as the food is exceptional. Such a variety and the kindness and attention they give is lovely.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars I cannot express enough how grateful I am for the incredible care I received at this hospital. I had knee surgery about a month ago with Dr. Sean O’Leary, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. Dr. O’Leary is truly one of the best doctors I’ve ever met — calm, passionate, and extremely kind. He made me feel at ease throughout the entire process. His assistant, Robina Slater, was fantastic as well — always quick to respond to emails and very clear in her communication. The daycare staff, junior doctors, reception team, and especially nurse Lulu Muhammad were all amazing. There were a few other nurses whose names I don’t remember, but they all played a crucial part in my care and comfort. The anesthesiologist was excellent too — reassuring and comforting before the surgery. Overall, my experience was outstanding. This team really goes the extra mile to make patients feel safe and supported. I highly recommend this hospital for anyone considering knee surgery, especially with Dr. Sean O’Leary and his team. Thank you all for your exceptional care.

I was discharged from The Circle, Reading yesterday after a partial knee replacement under Mr Nahas. I was apprehensive about the operation but was reassured it was right for me and and received first class treatment and care from the medical, nursing and physio teams. The food was also excellent and many thanks to all! Alan

The staff here are amazing. They’re caring and have a lovely bedside manner. The hospital is extremely clean. The food was better than some restaurants I’ve been to that have had more than 4.5/5 stars. The information they provide is thorough and timely. I would choose this hospital again if I needed another surgery. Thank you for taking such good care of me.

I've had a great experience recently here at the Circle Reading for a day case surgery. From start to finish I cannot fault anything. Very speedy for all my appointments and the surgery itself and my care has been brilliant by all. I would highly recommend. Thank you!

I’ve had fantastic experience at Circle Reading. Everyone from receptionists to nurses, anaesthesiologist and my surgeon made me feel welcomed and I felt assured my operation will go well and it did. On the day of the operation I wasn’t even worried or nervous, I was actually excited to have it. Thank you all for the best care I’ve had in the UK!

I'm at the clinic and just had my lower back injected for pain relief. It went very smoothly, the whole team were welcome and nice. Offered a lathe and biscuit after the surgery. Dr is brilliant and knows what's he is doing. Communicated with me throughout the surgery. The place is very clean and well staffed. I would definitely recommend.

I had an Ankle fusion done at the Circle earlier this year, and I can’t praise the Circle hospital enough, they were excellent in every respect, all the appointments were bang on time and staff were very professional and always bright and cheerful. Reception / pre op nurse / X-ray / physio / ward nurses / anaesthetist and Mr Mahadevan who who did such a wonderful job on my ankle, a very helpful and approachable consultant. I can’t thank you enough, it will be life changing after 5 years of pain. Michelle and medical secretary Sue Spencer who have been most helpful throughout. Rob Varndell (a very satisfied and grateful patient)

My operation went really well; what I’m reviewing here is the Circle reading…which I found awful (for daycare at least!) I’m Italian and I went in as private patient. It was my first time in a hospital/clinic in the Uk…and I’m sad to say that I didn’t find it good at all. 5 hours wait for my planned operation, with no communication whatsoever on how long you are going to be there waiting; and you are made feel, in my opinion, not a person with pain, but just a barcode, a number, there to fatten up the Circle Reading accounts..I have no idea how many people were booked in that day…but I can say FAR TOO MANY!!! I honestly feel utter despair thinking that this is the best care available…I didn’t even feel like a person when I was there…just a paying cheque! Nurses mind their business…they just follow their list of duties…not sure how much “looking after “, proper looking after …with your heart I mean ,is part of a nurse job at the circle. The Circle reading is just a corporate business…making money with people health issues. In my opinion, when you deal with people at their most vulnerable (when they are unwell), you should offer something else…some warmth, something typically human! None of this in my experience at the circle. I can confidently say that a robot could have replaced the nurses on this occasion. Operation was successful, So I shouldn’t complain; but my day at the circle was unforgettable…not in a good way!
