Lovely venue. Great disco. Great staff. Only complaint is the price of a pint, at 7 quid its criminal, especially when served in a plastic glass!

The Octagon Hall, situated within Buxton's Pavilion Gardens, is a distinguished Grade II-listed building renowned for its architectural elegance and cultural significance. Designed by local architect Robert Rippon Duke, it opened in 1875 and stands as one of Europe's largest eight-sided rooms. In 2015, the hall underwent a comprehensive £3 million restoration to address structural concerns, particularly with its iconic dome. This refurbishment not only ensured the building's safety but also reinstated its original Victorian splendour, including a return to the authentic colour scheme. Beautiful market stalls to see inside Today, the Octagon Hall serves as a versatile venue, hosting a diverse array of events such as concerts, exhibitions, and community gatherings. Its spacious interior can accommodate up to 1,200 standing guests or 450 seated, making it ideal for both large-scale and intimate occasions. Visitors often praise the hall's unique architecture and the quality of events held there. For instance, a reviewer on TripAdvisor highlighted the hall's modern theatre space and its suitability for various events. In summary, the Octagon Hall in Buxton is a testament to Victorian architectural excellence and continues to be a vibrant hub for cultural and community events, reflecting its enduring legacy in the region.

A great looking building, the main Pavilion and Conservatory are cast-iron and glass structures from 1870, designed by Milner in the style of London's Crystal Palace. The two-storey central hall of the Pavilion (which now houses the café) was rebuilt in 1983 after a fire. The Conservatory was originally used as a small concert hall with a stage and organ. In 1982 it was remodelled as a greenhouse conservatory with tropical plants and a fish pond. The Pavilion was extended with the construction in 1875 of the Octagon Concert Hall (by Robert Rippon Duke). With capacity for 800 people, the hall has been used over the years for musical concerts, tea dances, conferences, trade shows, antique fairs and farmers' markets. The Beatles played in the Octagon Concert Hall on two occasions in 1963. The Octagon reopened in 2018 after a three-year £3m refurbishment. Unless there's an event on, it's a kids play area with cafés and coffee shops, worth a visit if you're in the area.

Stunning Victorian pleasure dome. Often has fayres within. Civilised public toilets up the stairs to the east plus a gorgeous mini steam railway in the adjacent park.

The sound system at this venue is tragic! Went to see Jimeon here as the venue had been moved from the far superior Opera House due to a clash of events. Could not understand most of what this tremendously funny man said. By all accounts, he was less than impressed himself! A waste of money and effort having travelled from Anglesey to see the show. Saw him at the Opera House 2 years ago and nothing short of a totally brilliant experience. Millions spent in renovating the building, for God's sake, spend a few quid on the sound system so that people don't go home feeling as if they've been cheated!!!!!
