We recieved two letters from Berkshire Wealth advising us of a possible stamp duty reimbursement, both letters went in the bin !! When we recieved a third letter I rang them and spoke to Lis Casey, she reassured me it wasn't a scam and we did fit the criteria for a tamp duty rebate on the property we had just bought. The process was extremely easy ,I was emailed a list of things I needed from our solicitor regarding the purchase of our house. They sent the information straight back to me and I forwarded it on to Lis. Fast forward 4 months and we were awarded £10,000 less the fee to Berkshire Wealth (1,500.00). I can honestly say we were flabbergasted at the outcome as we never would have known that this was possible . Please if you revieve a letter from this company , contact them don't do what we done and bin the first two letters, there is a time limit from purchasing your property to applying for the rebate. Highly recommend this company

Berkshire Wealth approached my partner re more than halving the amount of SDLT payable on a property she had purchased. The claim was accepted by the Inland Revenue without challenge at the time, as a result of which we paid over £5000 to Berkshire Wealth. Subsequently, the Inland Revenue challenged the claim. It is now clear we did not have a leg to stand on. There was no justification for arguing that the property was 2 separate properties and therefore eligible for a lower rate of SDLT - no separate kitchens, no separation into 2 dwellings. We now have to pay the full amount plus over £5000 interest. Our attempts over the past month to reclaim the £5000 paid to Berkshire Wealth - whether by email or my phone - have met with zero response. I am now being forced to take legal action against Berkshire Wealth to elicit a response from the company

We thought it was a scam! First thing we did was to phone our financial advisor. He had never heard of the possibility of overpaying stamp duty but asked what it would cost us to make a claim through Berkshire Wealth. We told him no win no fee basis, so he said that we had nothing to lose and to let him know the result. Next we phoned Lis and agreed to go ahead with the claim. We phoned the estate agent who had sold us this house and the estate agent who had sold our previous house, which also had an annex, neither of them had heard of this potential overpayment of stamp duty. We had to get documents from our own solicitor sent to Berkshire Wealth and I find it incredible that they, being responsible for paying our stamp duty to HMRC, didn’t know the rules governing purchase of a property with an annex. They even had the nerve to ring back and ask if they could try to get the refund for us. The process took several months but Berkshire Wealth kept us informed throughout and eventually £8500 was transferred to our account. We can thoroughly recommend Berkshire Wealth.

Berkshire Wealth contacted me to bring my attention to potential rebate associated with the house we bought. Our solicitors had not identified the criteria we met for SDLT relief, so when Berkshire contacted us we were rather sceptical by default. That said, they explained very clearly to us why they knew we were in scope for SDLT relief along with the simple steps we'd need to take to reclaim the tax we had wrongly paid. The process was simple, apart from taking a few photos, Berkshire tood care of everything, and I can wholeheartedly recommend the service and resulting outcomes they provided.

Excellent experience 5***** Adam contacted me by post and when I first called up to have a chat I knew instantly that I was in safe hands. The service was very professional and I was easily able to trust him and his business. The process was very simple and I received my cheque as he had originally laid out for me. Lis was equally very helpful and the whole process was very simple from the start to the finish. I now have a significant rebate just when we needed it and I can not recommend Berkshire Wealth, Adam and his team any higher. Many thanks
