    Do not use this insurer by any means! Vehicle valuations are around £10k below actual market prices, underwriters are an absolute joke and refuse to insure a car simply for a change of air filter, still utilising the original airbox. Be prepared for disappointment using this sham of an organisation.

    Purchased a winter car, so my pride and joy doesn’t go out in the poor weather and salt that isn’t good for a vehicle. Bought a cheap runaround with a smaller engine, half the power. Ageas have a stupid admin fee to cancel, and with only 90 days remaining on the policy I swapped it over. I am a clean driver with no adverse details on the policy. They’re trying to charge double than the previous vehicle. They also tried 4 times to cancel my policy, treating me like I didn’t insurance my vehicle properly. Each time I had 7 days to give them information they had no right to, and now they’re ripping me off. Avoid this company, I won’t be renewing at the end. Scammers, extremely difficult to deal with. They also massively underestimate the value of a car, so pay attention just in case something happens. Avoid these sharks, worst insurance company I’ve ever dealt with & I usually hate them all equally. These lot are specimens

    Another car rammed into me while I was stationary at a give way. He accepted full liability. Ageas rang me and offered to sort everything out, with no payments to be paid by me. I accepted their offer. I had to contact them to find out my car is a total loss. Now they’ve just under valued my car by about 6k. Their tactics are a disgrace. None negotiable price for my car. They’re having a laugh. Edit We are now 5 weeks in, and still waiting for a better evaluation. I’ve now got a loan car from them (took 3 weeks to get it). Again, I had to contact them as they don’t bother to contact you, I’m not going to contact them anymore. Week 7 Finally got paid out, still low balled but accepted their offer. I would definitely advise anyone claiming through Ageas to either accept your going to lose out if your car is written off, or don’t use them. I had to do most of the contact to get information. And their no negotiation on offer is worrying. Insurance needs to be far better regulated, they’re just laughing at us.

    Avoid this company! A car changed lanes on a roundabout & hit the side of my car. The other driver was fully responsible for the incident. Ageas took the easy option & offered 50- 50 despite my fierce objections. Roll forward over one year later & I've been to Court today. My Solicitor, advised I'd done nothing wrong & the other driver had accepted full liability - news to me, but Ageas has taken the easy option & offered 50-50 against my will. Its only the fact that so many mistakes were made leading to the court case that I've learnt about this. I had to appear in court because the defendants insurers (Admiral) refused to pay their half of the invoice. Their Solicitor was embarrassed to be there & said he would not ask me any questions! Outcome of today- defendant was held fully liable, has to pay court costs, interest & my £100 excess. My advice, if you have car insurance with Ageas & have an accident, question everything they do & say to you. They are supposed to represent YOU. They should, not take the easy option & sell you out. Totally incompetent company & they dealt with me in a disrespectful & dishonest way.

    Have been with Ageas just over a year. I've had to put a claim in after the car was run into while parked up at home. I just want to say thank you to all I spoke to. Everyone was pleasant. The claim was sorted very quickly and efficiently. Even for the car seats that required a replacement. I am really pleased with the service provided.

    Terrible! Had my car stolen then they took weeks to get it assessed. So under this defaqto rating of 5 no hire car is provided until it's assessed. Then when it was they offered me 5k for a car that's selling for between 9-13k depending on mileage and spec. They then said it doesn't go on market value what people are selling them for bit there's engineers assessment. I sent examples of the same car as mine same specs and the value they are selling at. Didn't hear back from them for weeks. Unless I call to check up what's going on they completely ignore. Never again with this company, should you ever need to claim they will most definitely try get out of it. This is the first time using my insurance in all my driving years what a bad experience.

    Not worth even one start! Worst experience I ever had! Customer service totally joke. Had an accident January 22, call next day for the update my case not registered…after that day every single time has to chase, no response for weeks. Claim been made and agreed with other side as wasn’t my fault and other drivers company agree to pay out straight away…. After almost whole year still chasing my claim with Ageas…. Avoid if you can, there are so many companies that are much better

    The worst experience ever been with them, most people expect from an insurance company is in the unlikely event of being involved in the accident then your insurance company should deal with everything as long as you provide all the information they need that’s not what happened to me? I ended up having to deal with everybody myself accident repair centre, hire car company.I was promised people will resolve things for me and get back to me that was never the case,Only one person I spoke to was helpful out of my own experience with them. The only thing they were good at was pushing me and threatening me to take a deal I wasn’t happy with, otherwise I was gonna be left with nothing!That’s the service I got from having a fully comprehensive cover and paid them in full upfront. avoid them if you can Or otherwise, good luck

    Ageas lie about car accidents on no claim certificate. When there was the other driver fault, they put multiple car collision. They’ve never fully investigated the incident and I have plenty of pictures of slip road and surroundings. Bunch of incompetent people. They say over the phone: oh your car is on the drive now, it’ll be £35 and charge you £50. The website never works. Will never go with them again, will never recommend them. Very unpleasant organisation as whole, they are just in a sorry state. My authentic score is -10.
