Avoid. Contents cover covers nothing. Expect the worst when you call and claim. Claimed for stolen bike which is covered but they came out with loads of caveats that just about anyone would fall foul of. I will not be renewing and advise anyone else to do the same

AVOID AVOID AVOID Claim reference number - 4503327799 I am absolutely appalled by the way Aviva has handled my claim. Despite liability being accepted by the third-party insurer in September 2024, Aviva has failed to take responsibility for the refund of my excess, which is now over 4 months overdue. Instead of dealing with the claim efficiently, Aviva has repeatedly shifted the responsibility onto Carpenters Group, whom they recommended, and has left me chasing them for updates. Carpenters has not provided a meaningful update since August 2024, and Aviva seems completely uninterested in resolving the issue. Every time I contact them, I get misleading and conflicting information, and Iβm constantly told that the delay is out of their hands, even though Aviva is legally responsible for facilitating the refund. Their lack of accountability is beyond frustrating, and Iβve had to threaten regulatory escalation just to get them to act. I will never use Aviva again, and I strongly advise anyone considering them to think twice. They have proven to be a disorganised, unhelpful insurer that shirks responsibility and leaves their customers to deal with third-party contractors. Absolutely terrible service, and I will not be reopening my policy.

Why has my premium increased by 39% since last year, with no claims for 8 years? Why can't I discuss this via the phone? The Bot is a model of uselessness. All in all, a really bad experience - why should I stay with Aviva? They appear to be a model example of corporate complacency.

Avoid Aviva at all costs! I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Aviva Car Insurance that I feel compelled to share and warn others. I needed to add business cover for my new job, which only involves occasional driving to a few properties each month. Shockingly, Aviva wanted to increase my premium by over Β£120 a year for this minor change. Frustrated, I decided to check Compare the Market and found several cheaper quotes at more than Β£200 - Β£250 cheaper. I went back to Aviva, hoping they would match the price or at least reduce their exorbitant premium. To my disbelief, they flat out refused. When I commented on their lack of effort to retain existing clients, they not only stuck to their rigid stance but also charged me Β£56 to cancel my policy! Aviva clearly does not care about their customers once theyβve taken your money. Their inflexibility is appalling. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for car insurance. This companyβs customer service is abysmal, and they have no interest in keeping their clients happy. Avoid Aviva at all costs!

I used them after a car accident and I was happy with how it was handlened - paperless, did everything via the app, apart from the initial call I did right after the accident. They kept me updated and even went the extra mile for me. I don't use the phone and I like that they respond to emails quickly. I have multiple policies with Aviva and so far I haven't had any issues.

Unable to speak to anyone when calling about an old policy to get copies of my documents. So frustrating.

Very poor service! One of their customers hit my trailer and I had to repair it on my money to not loose more . After that when i get the invoice and tried to contact them they don't wanna talk anymore. Very disappointed.

I have called AVIVA their line has directed me to RAC lines. After a long quest of talking to someone I was transferred to 5 different employees and had to explain from a to z to every SINGLE person. They have sent the wrong information to RAC. I could show RAC my insurance policy and they could check it but it has to go from aviva to them in order to ensure transparency. Very light mistake. So I simply asked if they could resend my updated info. They said there's no means of communication between AVIVA and RAC. Which I doubt. RAC has emailed a request to AVIVA but nothing came back not even 3.5 hours of waiting. Had to stay on the line for 40 minutes to explain (which felt more like a wresting session) to convince the AVIVA representative to open a request for them to send my insurance details to RAC. MANIC. I made a written complaint beginning of September. 3 weeks later they are still looking into it. Aviva, just resend the info out. AVIVA has low insurance prices, perhaps for a reason, and what they offer looks good on paper. That's about it. On this occasion it was an absolute nightmare to get anything sorted with them.

When I eventually found a phone number relevant to my query, the person I spoke to could not have been more sympathetic or helpful. The only problem was finding a contact number in the first place. Aviva seem to prefer everything to be done by bot chat or e mail which was not possible in my case as I could not find the policy number. So your staff are great but maybe make it easier to reach you.
