   I went into the shop to get a silver brooch converted to a pendant. The heavily tattooed woman told me the cost would be between £85-90. when the remotely located jeweller who was to undertake the work looked at it they said it would cost £160!!!! I can't help thinking they are bing very opportunistic given I wanted it done for Christmas and that the staff in the shop should stop giving quotes given they are that misleading. When I called them to discuss the issue they couldn't have cared less. I would strongly advise anyone seeking a jeweller to carry out repairs to AVOID this jeweller. I have subsequently found someone who can carry out the work for £50 - and it will take a week - a bit of difference me thinks.

   my husband wanted to buy me a ring for our 10th wedding anniversary, went into Lawrence Jewellers Newbury, saw a ring for GBP 2900. Was not great, so had my existing one cleaned by Louise, she did such an amazing job only cost him GBP10 she made my day, my original ring looks like new. All the staff were lovely can highly recommend them. Sue
